WHAT BRINGS YOU TO RMN?

Yeah, NEW Ghostlight
Hmm, the glow letters don't work like I thought they would.

Wtf? Is that a joke?
Either way, I feel so special to have brought at least two people at this site! Well, my RMN presences begins at Ghostlight. I don't really remember how I stumbled upon that forum, I think it was when I browsed on GW and I found it in someone's banner. So I decided, "Well, it seems like a swell community." And joined as a very active member! Later on, as it declined due to the merge with LGC (some argue that LGC was the one that declined, and that is a perfectible acceptable answer!), I switched back to GW because I made a lot of friends in #G&D (which, too, has declined these days) and returned posting on GW. Well, later I was led to this site. I don't remember. Maybe via a banner? Or perhaps there was some drama between the two places and I felt curious and joined here to see what was up.
The rest of that is history.

I google'd RPG Maker and this was one of the first things that came up. I haven't exactly been to any other indie game sites, so most of the time I don't know what people are taking about.
Some random Feldshsthatcet person ( ::))promoted this website on GW and everyone there took the piss. I thought "hey it can't be that bad it might be like a GW which doesn't frown on anime avatars" and thus joined the site.
TL;DR: Crashed through the fence

I found it after random searching and I was impressed by the cooliness of it's memebers.

WHOA. WHOA. WHOA. WHOA. WHOA. NEW Ghostlight?
Yes. It has legions of members!
Fuck you brandy ables.
Does anyone know who set up the new ghostlight? The wiki is a bad joke, it looks like it is a hideous patchwork of unfunny joke topics and/or bizarrely altered/expunged Ghostlight "history".

Well... uh. After TSG disbanded due to immense levels of failure, a couple of the Ghostlight remnants (Oto, Tonfa, & Cupcake or whatever his name was) started up Ghostlight anew. I joined, hoping that possibly the "real" Ghostlight could be revived. Unfortunately, they basically created it into a site of lame in-jokes and obsessing over a few redudant games/ideas/things. I left quite soon after it formed.

A good amount of us do frown on anime avatars.
Also we aren't really like GW in a ton of ways.
Gaming Galaxy, Loose Cannon Gaming, and Township Games went completely dead the last I've seen and was taken offline so I was searching for another forum with a small commute.

No special story with me. I've been a member of GW for a really long time, but now GW's not really the place for game making anymore, so when some big event went down in GW that drew a lot of people here (I don't really remember what it was), I just came with everyone. The community here is pretty rad so I decided to help out this place and whatnot.
I signed up in november? in 2007, forgot about it for a long time (yeah.. I know what you're thinking, HOW COULD HE FORGET ABOUT THIS MAGICAL PLACE?) then I re-found it (google is amazing) and it was like username Natook has already been taken, then I though hmm.. since I use the same password for everything, then maybe... and bingo! I had already signed up! Then I got sucked into this amazing black hole. I can't leave, nor do I want to!

Someone told me the split of G&D caused people to leave! I don't get why that was a bad thing, especially because I was the one who suggested it!
I... only went GW once, a long time ago. As in, saw the homepage.
As for RMN, I'm not sure. There are some forums I have extended relationships with, depending on the aftertaste I have after the first night.
I am pretty sure I found this place while searching for chipsets.

I joined up GW around early 2005; getting a fleeting glimpse of their once-worthwhile community. I eventually broke away from it with a certain group of members to start up Loose-Cannon-Gaming (Clest, Skie, Rizzn, some others); which had a relatively successful six months before my internet temporarily died and the acivity diminished. Going BACK to GW for another year, I hoped that its remnants could somehow take root into a more productive community despite the nonsense that was going on (I was genuinely naive enough to believe this!); but those aspirations were quickly shattered after a ridiculous amount of IRON GAIA DRAMA took place. I was subsequently invited to Ghostlight along with everyone else.
I rode it out for a while, and came to find that it was a pretty decent site; but gradually things sort of slowed down and there wasn't much going on. In a sort of "Act of Desperation," some former-LCG staff members made the suggestion to me that we merge it with Trance/Ashen's fledgling community, Omengate. We talked and planned on that for several grueling months, and Ghostlight jumped into the mix at the last second, making things a bit more complicated. (Township Games was put together by Rizzn, who basically prompted the entire process.)
Like everyone else said, though, the idea worked better conceptually than it did in practice. I had started talking frequently to WIP around that time, and he'd tipped me off in terms of what he'd been working on for RMN. I opted to leave TSG and wait patiently for RMN rather than trying to make it work, and in hindsight that was probably a fairly smart move! I was very hyped about it and invited a lot of members, but unfortunately the transition lasted a while longer than I'd expected.
Long story short: I am here because I like it. :]

RPG2Knet -> Gaming World -> Gaming World + RMN.
I secretly spy on those XP and VX sites, but all their games look the same.
