Well, he stands out because he, you know, laughs and has opinions and emotions. YDS comes off as EXTREMELY TIMID and Brandon Abley sounds surprisingly like a robot, and none of his on-the-forums personality really comes out.
Of course, this isn't even really that bad...it's much better to sound unemotional than to come off as too off-the-wall/zany/exuberant, trust me.

Cool podcast. I heard from BadLuck that he has talked to RPGAdvocate, so he is probably not dead.
The whole thing could have used more organization and I think that would have cut it down a lot as well.
