NEW ART & STILL LIFE PAGES [WARNING: IMAGE HEAVY]

Posts

Pages: 1
Well, when I posted my 'Finally Back' topic, someone immediately asked how Still Life was doing (which was actually really nice - didn;t think anyone would particularly ask about it), so here are the next four pages of it, along with some new sketches etc.

I'm aware posting this that dialogue isn't my strong point XD
(Come to think of it, a fair few of my drawings need a LOT of work too)

The following are all for my course

This needs a WANG ALERT WARNING in the title!
I like the drill dozer thing!

That fourth Still Life comic is funny as hell.

Pros: The drill machine thing.

Cons: The wang?
Why does Osiris have a vag?

I'm no MASTER of ANATOMY or anything, but it's a trend I noticed with your work.

Hahaha. I didn't even notice the penis until I went back. It doesn't look very realistic, though. :<
Haha, everyone notices the penis.
I've been working on my women for a while, but the fact I'm single seems to be shining through more and more in my artwork XD They do need to be a bit curvier and more feminine, I agree, there's just some kind of superhero-comic blockiness to them I can't seem to quite shake.

Glad everyone likes the drill. I was waiting for someone to say it looks like they stole it from Dr Robotnik (a striking reseblance to some of his machines I only just realised) =P
I highly suggest start building them with curvy shapes, like circles and spheres. Don't use sharp, straight edges on women. Men have those.

This even holds true in the real world. Have you ever taken a figure drawing class? It's a good idea to take one if you haven't.
I have a weekly one at Uni but fuck, if you'd seen some of the monsters they call 'models'... Blech. They look like men XD

So google image search a good-looking woman and model yours after her.

I feel your pain, man. Believe me. x_x

I suggest taking Harm's advice if that is an issue.
Figured I shouldupdate this. As part of my current Uni project, I'm doing a seven page comic to show the opening sequence of my proposed game.

Not inked yet, comments are welcomed.

Hmm, I'm assuming that character is the lead?

This might seem close-minded of me or whatever, but I don't find the lead or her design attractive at all. I'm not sure if it's your style or your intention but I figured I'd bring it up anyway. I mean, this isn't inherently a problem, I suppose, but leads in action-oriented games (like yours appears to be) are typically attractive so that they are easier for us to relate to.

I know this opens up the whole can of worms, "why can't we have unattractive leads", but there is a reason most characters in games are attractive in general.
I'll join you in thinking that the lead isn't gonna win any beauty pagents.

She has trinagular ears and no eyebrows - also, when coloured, you'll see her skin is light blue.

Those might be the reasons she's not overly attractive. Well, that and the fact her muscles rival Arnie's in some pics, and the fact she's not human means her proportions will take some getting used to.

I dunno, maybe she's more for Star Trek nerds (if I ever meet one I'll hafta ask them).

(I never found Faith to be overly attractive and I loved Mirror's Edge foir the five minutes it took to complete it)

Sorry for the necro, but what ever happened to Still Life, Sam?
I've restarted it. I must've redrawn the first page ten times now, and I still can't get it to look quite right. Once I have the first page done, I'll fly through the rest, but that first page has to feel right before I can continue.
