I WANT TO LP LESSER KNOWN BUT QUALITY AMATEUR GAMES; ANY RECS?
Posts
My channel is mostly about RMMV, so RMMV games would probably be the best bet, but I'm not limited to them. The game shouldn't be frustrating, otherwise I won't LP it. No one wants to be on camera raging at a frustrating game.
Maybe your game? Maybe someone elses game? Maybe something with a download link on this site?

Maybe check the games section. We've got a lot. They're sortable by rating and newness and engine and various other ways.
I already did one for Oblivion Quest which I found on this site and I just did a new one for Planet Stuck. The first was a great game and the second... looks like it needs some revision but its respectable that the person did an attempt at their own little graphics.
Just thought I would give anyone the chance to drop a name. I already am picking out ones at random.

I don't think The Tiamat Sacrament got much press when it came out, and it's one of my favourite games on here. Might be worth a look (it's rm2k3)
That said, it was the featured game for July 2010, so it may not be as obscure as you're looking for.

I dunno if this is good but it would be interesting to seE:

It would be safe to say that if you pick any game on RMN not named Pom Gets Wifi, the game you're going to be playing is going to be 'lesser known'.
Yeah, pretty much anything on this site fits the bill enough for me, mostly because I'm new to this community if nothing else.
I have two more games queued up from requests from makers to play their games. I just did one. I'll add the one above on. Thanks for suggestions.

Heh, remember my Let's Plays of Future Helper?
I should do more LPs like that.
I've knocked out all the ones from RMW that I had queued up. I'm going to start with the first request in this thread and work down if anyone cares.
Alright so, I'm skipping over Tiamat Sacrament and any other RM2003 game unless someone can like... upload the font files I need to make it look right. I've searched for them and found a few places where people talk about how to fix it and the links are dead. I can't find any fonts with the package. So, yeah. I'm not playing another game with that font, especially for an LP. lol.
On to Mom it is.

Not sure if this will help:
If the in-game fonts appear squishy and the letters run together, try the following steps, in order, to solve the problem:
1. Install the "msgothi0.ttc" and "msmincho.ttc" fonts by copying them from the fonts directory included in the installation to the \windows\fonts directory and double-clicking on them. See if the fonts look correct now.
2. If the step above didn't work, install the "RM2000.fon" and "RMG2000.fon" font files into windows\fonts as described above (note that installing these files isn't necessary if you already have RPG Maker 2000 installed), then copy the "RPG_RT.exe.dat" file included in the fonts directory over the one in the main application directory (the same directory as the RPG2003.exe file). Create a new project and see if the fonts look correct in that new project.

yeah, I saw that, but I don't know where those files are. I guess I will search for them later. I've had enough of LPing for today. I'll come back to it. Thanks.
Go through the games made in the various McBacon Jam events. There's a lot of games there that need some love.
The font files for RM2k/3 are uploaded on the site. Just install the fonts and they'll override the default ones on your machine making the text actually readable! Here's the link: https://rpgmaker.net/engines/rt2k3/utilities/1/
I feel kinda dirty recommending my own work, but...
Maybe Heresies of Discord?

Like, most of my games are pretty challenging, but this one has a decent amount of leeway and you can drop difficulties if it's too hard or if you fight too much and run out of supplies. It's also not super long (about 2 hours).

I say stay away from event games generally for LPs. There's a lot of games that need attention and for the developer that isn't a "make a game in a month" gimmick.
edit: That isn't to say if you see an event game that interests you that you shouldn't play it. Like I said, just generally.
I guess it also matters how much time you want to invest in a game.
