HELP ME WITH AN EXPERIMENT
Posts
Hello,
I am testing an experiment, and I need help from anyone willing to help.
In order to participate, download the following file:
https://rpgmaker.net/users/calunio/locker/EXPTYPE1.rar
Unzip it and run the executable. It contains all the instructions you need. The whole thing should take between 5 and 10 minutes.
I will answer questions regarding what it's about once I'm finished.
Thanks in advance!

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

If this is a test for ADD, I think I passed with a positive result, because I quit after about two minutes. Also, if you drag the eye onto the picture's eye, which was the first thing I did, the program breaks.

They told me I was mad when I said I was going to create a spidertable. Who’s laughing now!!!

yyyyeah if you're going to rely on my volunteer work maybe don't have me do the same two tasks for more than like a minute, because that got super tedious, super quick.
Emailed you my results.
Got caught up in a conversation. Very interesting! Nice music choice, btw, sadly it ran out on me. Oh well.
Didn't check how long it took me. Will just send you a pm with the file.

you guys all failed.
the experiment is to see if anyone would actually download a strange executable from the internet and execute it.

This is not a game, this is an experiment. 5 minutes long. You guys have the wrong mindset.
Sorry that my mindset is not "willing to waste the time God gave me doing the same two tasks repeatedly for five minutes, uncompensated, when I could actually do something productive or enjoyable."
Kind of alarming how some people trust any file they're given as long as it comes from rmn.
It's more that I trust calunio, having playtested a game for him before. :P

Eh, I scanned it. Also Calunio seems trustworthy enough I guess. vOv
I started my Doctorate in Psychology this year, and this little thing is my pilot study. Of course there is a lot to calibrate, but it will be easier if I do this based on some sort of data. The reason I'm asking for help is I need that data. It's not supposed to be fun, and if spending 10 minutes to help someone with their studies is considered to be a complete waste of time and not productive, I'm sorry. Hopefully there are still some nice people around that are willing to help. Thanks to all of those who already did. :)

I'm just saying, if you really need/want data from a lot of people, it is probably a good idea to find a way to make those people want to provide it. Trying to guilt someone into doing your tedious task for five minutes is not an effective tactic. Making the task less tedious is much more effective.
Well, the nature of such experiments is that you are trying to test something, and that may be unpleasant or require focus.
I don't see him trying to guilt anything, tbh. Tho I guess you felt very frustrated by it all?
Lemme reread that..
Wrong mindset isn't really possible for experiments .. that much is true. Is it about that? Okay, I got it : )
I know some spots give out some money for your time, but that's usually for an hour or two. I say 5-10 minutes is okay to do, I don't expect experiments to be the most fun activity by default haha.
*chuckles* It also so happens I am a relaxed person, and I enjoy meditation, so the start was made much more fun by just relaxing back and seeing what happens.
Was it really that unpleasant to people?

I figure it is a way to test how people respond to frustration and a setup that is not explained, for one. Well it could be! In which case there is no point in properly explaining the task, because otherwise you can't test how people respond to it, they'd just do it easy and be done *shrug*
.. in which case quitting it halfway is also a valid response!

If I have to do the same thing for longer than like a minute, with no variation, I'm really disinclined to keep going.
And yeah, I consider "if spending 10 minutes to help someone with their studies is considered to be a complete waste of time and not productive, I'm sorry" to be super guilt trippy.
