CloseSo I bought Horizon Zero Dawn the other day, and by the gods it's gorgeous.
I'm having an absolute blast with it so far. The setting is really compelling, the combat is varied and fun, there's a good array of weaponry and skills to unlock, the map looks huge, there's plenty of side content to meander through, and the visuals are some of the best I've seen on the PS4 since Uncharted 4. Here's a photo I took using the in-game photo mode:

Kinda nice though. It's like Civilization's Low-Tech Army vs. High-Tech Army and this time, you're the low-tech guy.
Still, what are those lame HZD and LoZ:BoTW comparisons? I'd rather enjoy both games than going to side to another.

I think the comparisons are largely due to them both being open-world games, but from what I've heard it's like comparing apples to oranges. They're very different game experiences and both appeal in their own ways.

Horizon is a PS4 exclusive, it won't be coming out on PC.

Horizon is one of the games that I'm absolutely drooling over. Not so much because of the open world (which I always love), but because, SHOOTING GIANT BAD-ASS ROBOTS WITH A FUCKING BOW AND ARROW!

Can confirm that shooting giant bad-ass robots with a fucking bow and arrow is every bit as glorious as you imagine it is. There are few things as viscerally satisfying as nailing a Watcher in the eye with an arrow from miles away and watching it drop like a stone.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I watched someone streaming this game for a while and the map is WAY, WAY too big. It's like a two minute walk between enemies. There's just nothing. It's like someone's first-time RPG Maker project where they add vast amounts of empty space everywhere for no reason.
Also during the tutorial when the main character is a little kid, she has the body and voice of a 5 year old girl but the face of Jack Black. It's pretty disturbing. She seems normal when you're playing because you're looking at her from behind, but every time a cut scene starts it's like OH MY GOD.
Guys, two of these pictures are a five year old girl, and one is Jack Black at age 26 in an episode of X-Files. Can you tell which is which?

it was a trick question they're all jack black
To be fair the tutorial section isn't very long and after that she's grown up, so it's not a huge problem. :P
