Close@WIP: Man, that sucks to hear. Lack of consensus is the worst when it comes to stuff like this.
Was just thinking about this - would agree that the title should be changed but does "Discord Chat" make more sense? I'm trying to think from the point of view of someone who had no idea what Discord was, and feel that their first question might be, "What is Discord Chat? People chatting about something called Discord"?
Ultimately going forwards Discord would be RMN's main chat application - so would just calling that link "Chat" suffice? When you think about it it shouldn't REALLY matter what application we're using to chat anyway, as long as we can chat with other RMN users.

It appears to exist for PC/Mac, but only in app form, and fuck that.

What about Line? My wife uses that.
Or is that just for cell phones?
It does work for PC but I think it is a little fiddly to setup (am setting it up for Japanese friends and my email linking didn't work at all - which would be enough hassle alone, so I have to scan that code every time I log in)

I know this is almost a year old and probably well and settled, but I did stumble across a different chat service called Matrix lately.
I'm only bothering to mention it because it's apparently open-source and not tied to a single app, and can still do IRC among other things. So, if integrating chat into RMN's site directly is still an interest, I guess this might be a good candidate? Chat services and internet stuff in general isn't a field I know anything about, so apologies in advance if this is a useless bump.

Well, thanks for bringing it up, but I think we're all well and attached to Discord at this point. Open Source doesn't necessarily mean good, and while still doing IRC is nice, I think people appreciate being able to talk on all the other discords at once.
It might have been a good contender if it had been brought up back then, though.
