FABLE II

Since the last attempt at this was horrible, I decided to make a topic!

__..::Fable II::..__
Fableâ„¢ II is the true sequel to the wildly successful original that sold more than 3 million copies, offering even more choices and building on the core gameplay theme of "Fable," where a player's every decision continually defines whom they become. "Fable II" is an action role-playing game (RPG) that truly allows players to live the life they choose in an unimaginably open world environment.

Set 500 years after the original, "Fable II" will provide gamers with an epic story and innovative real-time gameplay, including a massive amount of freedom and choice to explore a vast collection of dungeons, catacombs and caves in the world of Albion.

Features

* Choices, consequences. The innovative gameplay pioneered in the original Fable provided gamers with a never-before-seen level of immersion in a truly interactive world. Fable II expands upon the scope and depth of the Xbox classic by adding incredible new features and creating a wider, more complex kingdom of limitless choices and consequences. Players will have the option to play as a man or woman, get married, have children, and live a life of their own design.

* A land far, far away. Revisit the sprawling world of Albion more than 500 years after the events of the original Fable, where you are free to explore the landscape and openly roam the countryside. For the right price every house, hut, dungeon and castle is for sale. Players can witness how the world grows and changes in response to their decisions in incredible and unique ways as they rediscover Albion as if for the first time.

* Fight with ease. Fable II pioneers a new combat system designed to allow players to truly master hand weapons such as swords and maces, ranged combat weapons such as cross-bows and guns, and an entirely new magic system. These three disciplines, while very accessible, are also amazingly deep, and allow players to mix combat styles and become everything from master swordsman to skilled ranger to evil magic weilder, utilizing a single button on the Xbox 360 controller.

* A hero's best friend. This groundbreaking addition to the game is integral to the theme of unconditional love in Fable II. The canine companion will act as friend, compass and protector. Players must merely feed their pooch and he will love unconditionally, creating a bond that sets up emotion-filled journeys all throughout this magical world.

* Experience the world together. For the first time in the Fable” series, gamers can experience the expansive and immersive world of Fable II with friends, utilizing the new and exciting Dynamic Co-op Mode, bringing the long-awaited multiplayer function to the world of Fable II.

* Xbox LIVE Arcade mini-games earn major cash. Carbonated Games has partnered with Lionhead Studios Ltd. to bring an unparalleled experience to gamers through Xbox LIVE Arcade. Gamers can start earning in-game currency for the Fable II world later this year, before the game's release to retail, by downloading and playing exclusive mini-games, which will be available for download on Xbox LIVE Arcade and allow gamers to purchase weapons, armor and more for their hero.

Clearly that was all ripped from the official Fable 2 page at the official Lion Head Studios site, however, it had some great, summed up info on it, so I figured it would just be best to copy/paste whore it.

Anyways, discuss! Do you plan on buying it? Do you already have it pre-ordered? What is your favorite seen feature so far?

I myself like the expansiveness of the family system, dog, and, well, just the freedom of everything is great! I have had it pre-ordered since sometime around september 20th, so it has been ripping at my skull for a month now!

anyways, I think I did this topic some justice. (well, the fable 2 site did!)

I really don't think that I can get emotionally attached to a dog in a hack-n-slash RPG, unless he can wield equipment. :<
I've never really been interested in this but i'll probably try it out at my friends house. The features mentioned sound pretty good.
My copy's in at EB Games. I'm picking it up in an hour.
I'm excited. Very excited.

I got the collectors edition. Comes in tomorrow ;D
This game is awesome. Absolutely awesome. The combat is simple but very fun, and it's neat being able to talk to anybody who's playing the game.
Been playing since I got it!

I love it! I haven't become very immersed in the quests just yet, but I am already married with a kid! I kind of wish your wife had to go through the pregnant stage though (supposedly, if you play as a female character, you actually will have to deal with pregnancy, rather than an instant baby.) I laughed SO hard at the fact that the game has condoms for sale in it!

Also, the work option is kinda nice. EXTREMELY REPETITIVE, but nice to have there. I'm almost a 5 star black smith :)

I also need to find a better hair stylist, my guy looks a bit bummish...
So the game is worth getting then? I am deciding between this and Fallout, so I guess I just have to wait and see how that is when it comes out.
I would recommend this game from what I have played so far, yes/
I only played this game for 1-2 hours but it rocks the house. I am playing a female character. My girlfriend and I sat down last night and dressed her and died her clothes and hair. Also, we had her feast on celery so that she was not so butch and looked more lith and feminine. It is sweet that weight changes are more long-term than Fable 1.

Pro-tip: If you want the men of Albion to fall in love with your female avatar, don't bother charming them. Just take your clothes off. They will fall in love with you instantly.

All surrounding women and children will be extremely disappointed with you however.

Also the tutorial stage in this game is even longer and even suckier than the first Fable. Otherwise the game is awesome.
Still got around 30 hours to go before it hits in the UK
Going away to the MCM Expo in London about an hour after I pick up my pre-order though. Won't be playing til I get home the Monday.
I heard you can have kids in this one - is that true?
My friend's getting it friday ^_^

Well I got my collectors edition today and took the day off from course. IT'S PRETTY GOOD GUYS, seriously I got a huge headache but it's been worth it. Amazing graphics, just bought my first house and found a chest inside so I opened it but got caught by the guards and now I'm doing community service to pay off my debt.

You have unlimited Mana and the guns fit really well in with the games combat. Also it's combat is much better then the first game because switching between melee, magic and long range styles is always fun. You don't do up your health and strength like the original and it's a lot harder to get gold then the first. I got a job as a blacksmith at the start which helped me get on my feet, but the mini game that goes with the social interactivity and job is kinda boring after awhile as their all the same.

The Dog is amazingly done and it's fun praising him and playing fetch. You have to unlock all the extra tricks he learns and I have only gotten one so far. The overall atmosphere, music, sound, the way the sun/moon light cascades through trees is just put together so well you can't picture the game without it.

The best thing in terms of progression so far is just on the way to your destination you just get side tracked ad wander off finding heaps of little things and it's sometimes hard to not just wander off your objective as the world is just begging you to explore it.

On a side note Lionhead have really out done themselves on making you feel like a poor bastard at the early stages of the game.
@Tau, you still upgrade your health and strength, other than that though, I pretty much agree with everything you said, especially the last bit!
Dammit
I will not get this game until God knows when ...
Here in the Cayman Islands, we never get games on their release dates ... usually it takes like several months (If that, sometime they never come here... :( )
I think this game'll finally be the reason and inspiration I need to buy a 360. (Which is funny, considering the original Fable was the reason I bought an Xbox).

"For the right price every house, hut, dungeon and castle is for sale."

So that option will be available whenever. Aww, I took pride in the fact that I owned entire towns not just because I had enough money, but that I had to kill the all owners to make the buildings available for sale. (I know, I'm evil ;) )

This'll be great, though. I loved the original Fable even with its few flaws. I really hope the choices and consequences are really more expanded and actually affect stories and missions.

I just want to know if the NPC design is better, because all the NPC's in the first one were so incredibly ugly. It really took the fun out of being married, considering all your choices for wives (including Lady Grey) were so ugly looking.

If it is any consolation, murdering the owner of a house gives you a substantial discount off of its purchase price.

This morning my brother wakes me up around 6am and tells me the cat knowcked over the 360 with Fable 2 in it and now my disk doesn't work.. So now I'm going later on to see if I can get it cleaned at Blockbuster or something, see if that helps. Fuck I'm gutted as right now.

Edit - Yay it works now, I got it cleaned and holy shit it cleared the whole thing perfectly, not even a trace of the scratch was on the disc.
Question Tau:
What does "knowcked" mean?

Really man, you can clearly tell from the sentence it's in what it was supposed to be. It's just a spelling mistake, not even a bad one.
