I want to make a scene where everything is black and white, except for one event, then when you talk to it, all color fills in. Is there a way to tint the screen, but have an event ignore that? I know I can use tint to change the greyscale, but how can I make an event stay full color, is this doable without a script?
The crazy idea in my head is to make a picture of the map in question, gray-scale it, then set that as a picture in the foreground. Then use event-commands to make the opacity of that picture go from 255 to 0.
Though, I'm not sure about the character. In this case it would probably be "below" the picture, and thus be hidden from view. Hrm.

You might could use Marrend's idea along with this script to have the character above the picture.
WAIT! You both just gave me an Idea! I can make a picture of her sprite, and make it in color, greyscale the map, but it remains in color, and just have it disappear when I talk to her! Thanks! I feel stupid now though...
No need to feel stupid, it's not as it was an obvious solution. This will help others i'm sure, including myself. Now i know what to do if i want to do something similar.
