TEKKEN 7 (A.K.A AND YOU THOUGHT YOUR FAMILY WAS MESSED UP: THE FINALE)
Posts
Nova, I've played Tekken online for a couple years and have not heard anything about lows being frowned upon, despite connection problems.
My PS+ subscription expired recently so I'm surprised I can play online too! And cool, I'll add you once my internet is fixed (my landline's been messed up since Thursday FML).

I'll probably be able to play with ya people once I'm back at my hometown and IF I buy Tekken y by then.
Cool Ozzy!
And I've added you Nova, feel free to request a battle whenever I'm online :D

I'm going to be "that guy" and critique a fighting game's story. Come at me.
I know this is my first Tekken game, so I expected to be lost regarding the story and who was who, but I still walked away from it mostly disappointed. It was fun to play, at least. I like the twists to the fighting mechanics during some of the battles, especially the last fight as Heihachi.
My problem with the story is that anything that didn't have Heihachi in it was extremely unsatisfying and mostly unrelated to the main plot. And Heihachi is only roughly half of the story. The other half was other people setting up for Tekken 8. Even if these side characters were written well (they're not), there's too much focus on them and not on the feud between Heihachi and Kazuya. Heck, Kazuya spent most of the game sitting in a chair and looking evil. Not exactly what I was thinking when I imagine the end of a feud spanning across a bunch of games.
Soulcalibur 5's story was a huge mess, but at least it focuses on the two leads and has a solid beginning, middle, and end. Tekken 7 has a beginning, middle, and only concluded one plot thread out of the... four or five threads they started. I mean, Tekken 7's been out in Japanese arcades for 2 years, right? Were they really unable to write a coherent story in 2 years' time?
TL;DR: Obviously the story mode was clearly framed for Tekken vets who know what's going on.

I never really cared that much for story mode, I haven't played the game yet, but if I can get some closure on why Heihachi is such a "wonderful" father, I'll be ok with it I guess. I only want that game so I can bash in all your skulls with Dragunov, so come at me bruh!
Yeah, Tekken 7's story mode is pretty universally hated, even by the hardcore vets. It was built up to be this massive arc-ending affair and ended up as anything but. Very little substance and not much closure. It's really all about the online IMO.

Okay, I'll admit. Of all the possible modes in a fighting game one could add, bowling was not one I expected.
...Doubt I'll get it, though. Does this look interesting to anyone else?
Yes it does! Tekken Tag Tournament 1 had bowling too IIRC.

Joooooooiiiinnnn uuuuuusss oooooozzzzzyyyyy
YM: What's special about Tekken bowling? I looked at Tekken Tag Tournament bowling, and it's just bowling with Tekken characters? Or am I missing something?
Personally, I'd rather have Tekken Ball or team battle. Those looked way more interesting.
