I not disciplining children thing is really bad. When a dog pees on your carpet, you don't give him a doggy treat, you don't bribe him to try and act better, you smack him with a newspaper, hard enough to really sting.
You fucking barbarian. Have you ever had a pet? Have you ever raised a pet that was not finicky and scared?
This is not how you raise a pet. It is worse than hitting a child. An animal is less rational than a child and is even less likely to associate misbehavior with discipline. Also an animal is even more vulnerable and defenseless than a child is. If you hit a child, he will think that violence is the solution to problems. If you hit an animal, the only thing it will learn is that it is afraid of you.
Incidentally, people who think any amount of violence is the solution to any problem are a pet peeve, hang up, or other thing that gets on my nerves! The exception, of course, is when violence is the problem.

To answer your loaded question, I grew up with several REALLY HAPPY golden retreivers / irish setters. No one is talking about HURTING animals. Just one little tap, once, is all it takes. Same with children. (NOT BABIES OBVIOUSLY) You make such paranoid and baseless assumptions.

Animals are animals are animals and are not human beings. Yes I know that A HUMAN IS AN ANIMAL or whatever but, uh, there is nothing wrong with a newspaper or being spanked or whatever. Corporal punishment, or public punishment in general, however, is too much being it is socially degrading as well as being a lesson in not sucking.

Pet peeves? Well, for one, the phrase itself. I prefer to say "major psychotic fucking hatreds".
The only thing I can think of right now is when people order too much food in the drive through. It's a god damn drive through. I should be able to, you know, drive through, order my food, drive up to the next window when I'm done and get my food. I shouldn't have to wait for your fat ass to order a month's amount of food. What the fuck. Order inside.

Signatures like yours are also pet peeves of mine. There's too much going on! Why don't these forums have the option to disable signatures? I prefer message boards to not have so many god damn pictures. Plain text is fine with me. That's why GameFAQs is my home.

There's no arguing with these types of people, there's no reasoning, no compromising, and no agreeing or even mutual acceptance. Part of the frustration of dealing with these people is their inherent inability to accept any opinion that isn't their own.

It's supposed to be Evan Longoria. Well, I heard a filly is a type of pony that children ride.
If the game comes back to St. Pete, maybe we should start making horse noises at Philly to get even.

You ever played Pokemon with a 8 year old that thinks that uber powered critters are the only way to win? They cheat up 6 of the max stat type Poke Arceus and call it a legit team. I hear these are the same kids on Xbox live! xD Those kids are a big pet peeve of mine. I spend hours on a team of Pokes I raise up, bred myself off of other Pokes I have hand trained for hours, and all of a sudden my hard work is put to shame my some dumb kid that says the only way to play is to have a team full of ubers. GRRRRR. I am SO glad they are not a part of the Monster Rancher fandom because Monster Rancher takes TIME and you have to Invest thought into each monster to build up the stats properly in the baby monster and... Ah, shit I'm rambling.
Wait a minute, what would an 8 year old be doing on Xbox live? I thought you had to be a certain age to use online subscription services like that. o_O
