[RM2K3] BIGGER CHARSETS?

Hello, I am currently working on a game using RPG Maker 2003. I want to make a dog character in the game, but I don't know how I would go about doing that, as the charsets are limited to 24 x 32 pixels. If it were 32 x 32 I would be okay, but no. Is there any way of getting around this? Or maybe some sort of plugin (I've heard of one by Cherry but I can't find it so if anyone has the link that would be great)? I don't know. There's just only so much you can do with 24 x 32 pixels of room. Thanks.

Unfortunately RPG 2003 is not like ace that allows bigger sizes of sprites, you're limited to 24x32 tiles. DynRPG only works with Tsukuru2003 and i don't know what it's features are since i've never used it.
There are some dog sprites in the RTP, iirc, and you could use them as a base to make bigger dogs, but yeah, you're pretty much limited to the 24 width.

If, however, it's a dog that doesn't animate (or only has three/four frames of animation) you could use charasets to make a bigger one!

Here's the patch you mentioned - I haven't tried it yet, but it should be worth checking out.

Wow, I'll be sure to check out all those things. Thanks you guys!!
It's possible to have the large sprite cut into pieces, create multiple events all using one piece, put them all next to each other on the map, and when you do the move event command do it for them all. And it will appear as a large sprite moving in unison. Not sure limits of this, but I've pulled it off small scale before with a 2x3 tile sprite, moving 1 tile left, 1 tile right, repeat. There were no seams in the events. This was done in the official english version of 2k3.

Yea, I know about that and I've seen that used in other games. It's just that I want this dog character I'm working on to be playable, so how could I split it up into two parts and it could still function as a player character?
If the dog is controllable, you could rig up a key input system that waits for directional input and then moves both halves of the dog at once. You'd have to do it for every map and probably make special adjustments to ensure that you could still interact with certain events, but it could be done.
I know. But I think this is still relevant. For many years I dreamed of such a patch. Perhaps there are users of rm2k3 who also need it.

P.S.
Corrected the reservation: the author's nickname of the second patch Kaine and not Cain.
