Bans generally last for a certain period of time. This period of time depends on the offense in question.

As for the case with your friend, I don't know how long this person has been banned already, and I can only guess how long the ban was for, given the information that's being provided.

Well, first off, when a user gets banned from the site for a certain infraction committed, there’s usually a message given, or several warnings from the moderators themselves that dictate what the offense of the ban was for. After that, the user is then banned from logging in on the site for a certain amount of time after that. The ban’s length, unfortunately, is never really told to the user straight outright about how long they have to wait to come back for specifically, but it usually varies, based off the offense, from a couple of weeks, to a month or two or three, or close to, or even beyond, a year. It really depends.

The best thing that your “friend” can do is to just sit it out and wait for his or her punishment to expire. If he or she is not really quite sure why he or she was banned in the first place, or that he or she wants to contest it, they’re better off trying to contact someone like Liberty through different means, like trying to contact her via her email or maybe drop a line on our Discord channel about it. Like Sooz says, creating another account just to contest or ask about the ban on the forums here is not a very good idea, as it’s against the site rules to have more than one account on here.

Your ban will expire in 21 months if you don't break any more rules. You may return at that time. The ban will not be shortened or removed for any reason.
