CloseCommunity member Steel is currently in surgery for cancer - as in, right now, as I am typing. He has had a really amazing battle over the last few months. He might die on the table today. He probably won't, because the odds are in his favor. There is still a chance, however, and as far as surgery goes, this particular operation is one of the more dangerous ones.
Seriously guys, pray for him. If you aren't a praying person, start, and then feel free to quit after today. Steel is an asshole and a lot of people hate him because he is mean! He is also brilliant, though, and more importantly and he is also a human being and he is a member of our community. Personally, I like Steel and I will be devastated if he doesn't make it.

He gets out somewhere between 3:00 and 6:00 PM EST. Sredni Vashtar at GW is a personal friend of Steel's family and will give us a report as soon as he knows.

I would honestly feel pretty terrible if this turned out for the worse! There's been a lot of silly shit to happen with him over the years, but it's things like this that make you realize how trivial it is.

Man yeah when Steel said he had cancer everyone thought he was making up. We continued to think that until we saw the photos of him where he was all swollen and yucky and bald.
Even still there's a part of me that would not be surprised that the whole thing is a prank because you know Steel :(

Surgery is successful. All of the tumor was removed successfully according to his mom!
