COMMUNITY HISTORY
Posts
I've been aware of the community since the earliest iterations of RM95 games, left it for a few years, came back when rm2k was released.
Been around ever since. Didn't start posting anywhere till like 2003-2004, though(initially at GW). I later migrated here and am one of this site's oldest and active members.

author=Max McGee link=topic=2342.msg40989#msg40989 date=1225410947Hi Legion, I'm still around. :)
Whatever happened to Kav?
I did leave the RM community for a year or two, but decided I really wanted to release a REAL game (as opposed to the low-quality joke games I've released). I'm still workin on it, but it's slow going since I'm doing just about everything custom, and by myself.

Robert Pelloni spotted.

I believe this is what the kids call "getting totally fucking pwned."
(in all honesty, I was trying to make a joke about you doing everything custom, just like Mr. Pelloni is doing. No offense intended.)
RM history...
I randomly found GW from google about seven years ago. I never posted on the forums unless I needed help with something. I used to just post my games and disappear, although I started posting a more often around 2007, when Onyx 2 was finished.
...And that's it. This place and GW are the only gaming sites I visit. I usually just post at SurvivorSucks.

author=Ciel link=topic=2342.msg70304#msg70304 date=1239400244At around that age, I seem to recall making some moderately rubbish choose-your-own-adventures with MSWord's hyperlink function...
The only way to make games when I was 8 was with DOS :o
Not much of a story, for me. Must have been about 11 when I discovered RPG Maker 2000, never really posted but played some of the now 'classic' RM2K games. Only really started posting on forums when I was ready to publish the first demo for my current project, by far the most polished thing I'd ever done on RPG Maker (which if you saw pretty much anything I'd done before that point, is not much of an accolade). So, yeah, never really part of the community, but was always... there.
Also, I think I remember being 11 and e-mailing Don Miguel to ask how to use switches, or something, and he was like "Read. The. Help. File." I hate myself.

Wink, wink.
To be like Kentona, or to just sound over epic:
The Story Of Lennon:
I beleive my obsession started at age 6, watching my cousin john playing Final Fantasy 7 and being in complete awe over the environment. After that point I became fascinated by the thrill of imagining what could be over the hills in a BG, or in a cave on the edge of a map or what have you. That lead me to create Neo Lescia, my first story.
I began writing it, planning everything in my head and creating the world. It fascinated me to no end. Since that time Neo Lescia has become an enigma to me, it is the one thing I dream of seeing completed, but I fear it never can be, as I expanded the game far too much, it just doesn't make sense anymore, it has to be literally everything I ever dreamed, and it is impossible to see such a monumental task come to fruition.
Since then I decided that it would be best to use Neo Lescia as inspiration, my hope and dreams of story writing and game creation. I sort of take bits of its universe and expand them into full games, which should give you an idea of how big Neo Lescia is. So far, I have around 30 games with key points for each planned out in my head, never on paper. the only one I have sat down to write out so far is Project Soldier (Which should 'debut' soon, btw).
So yeah, I just dream and dream, which was my inspiration for my failed but somewhat famous prject, Dreamer. I like to think of myself as the dreamer, for I have what seems to be a boundless imagination of original concepts and stories, that just haven't been structured yet. I could literally look at a picture of a beatiful forest and make an entire game, an entire world out of it.
So, thats it. I just like to dream, and channel my dreams into stories.

Well I would beleive that I am distinctly younger than you. (And most other people in this community I suppose.)
I've jumped from that place everyone is forbidden to talk about (don't ask) to Sky Tower Games and I lurked Gaming World for a while, too. Then I had about 2 years of not doing anything RPG-related, then I joined here 2 years ago, but only started posting early last year.
I have around 5 other forums I check regularly, but I'm hoping to cut down on them overtime as they're just distractions when I need to be doing work. This won't be on e of the sites I cut-off, though - it's just too valuable an asset to my career.

GGZ?
I've been a member of the RPG Making community, for almost ten years. I've been a regular member, moderator, admin, and even a co-owner of many, many RM communities, and now RMN is where I mostly stay. Even then, I'm beginning to fade out of the community, even then I used to be active like mad. Not game making itself by any stretch of the imagination, but the community itself. For the time being, I'm pretty tired of seeing the same people saying the same old predictable shit. It's gotten to the point where I can make a topic and know who's going to say what. Not to mention real life and its various idiosyncrasies are rearing their heads.
I figure the best thing to do is to wait for new people to become regulars in the community, and until then, just play and make games without raising a big hoopla about it.
