"Oh! You're right! But, Jay died by drowning. I honestly don't like the implications of cave having this, but as far as I know cyanide straight up kills people. Is there a transition period in which Jay would've been unconscious?"
"Couldn't J have fallen asleep in the water?" She looks toward the head master. "Like he had a concussion but was there a sign of struggle??"
"I more brought it up as an indictment of her character. But now that you bring it up, I'm... not sure? If the dose is strong, death is immediate, but if it's a weaker dose, loss of consciousness may be preceded by general weakness, giddiness, headaches, vertigo, confusion, and perceived difficulty in breathing."
"No struggle, guess I should've added that in the handbook, pretty important. Forgive your dear headmaster~"
Cave falls to her knees and begins sobbing uncontrollably into her sleeves
"T-there's no way I c-c-can get out of this, is there.. The evidence is so insurmountably overwhelming that people are killing themselves so they don't have to see my impending punishment! I guess I might as well just admit it.. Yes...It was me...I did it."

Cave's bawling redoubles at Hex's harsh incredulity, his dumbfounded expression more hurtful than any reproachful tone could ever be
"Yes...it's true...it's all true! I don't know how I can ever forgive myself! My only hope is that God can forgive me for my sins..! The truth is...The truth is....
I....
I......
I....
lied in my testimony!"

"I can see you're all sufficiently shocked."
Cave, with some effort, climbs back to her feet and places her head facedown on her podium
"Okay...Here's what REALLY happened...
I spent the beginning of the night arguing with the bear. Then I went to the infirmary, with both bottles of laxatives and cyanide. I had already gottem earlier cause I'm a super sneaker. Then I mixed em up. The idea at first is that I would just put em back, and watch the look on a would-be murderer's face when they tried to use the cyanide. Buuuuut then I got a better idea.
Then I went back to my room and read the note.
Then I went to the laundry room and saw Hex, but nothing out of the ordinary otherwise! Supposedly, he went straight to the kitchen.
Ya'know, I didn't think most of this needed to be explained, but getting you all to identify a murderer is like trying to make a horse drink water. That you lead it to. or whatever.
Then I went to the dining room to see if anyone was there! They weren't.
Then I went to Huni's room. I decided to pay her a little visit to keep her on her toes. Just a little tip: While ghost-summoning is really cool, so is locking your door!
I decided to hightail it to the kitchen, There, I put my cyanide plan into action. I mixed the sugar and cyanide and WHATEVER was in bottle A at that point, I made sure to make it obvious that the sugar container had been tampered with. It's not like anyone else was in the room with me to mess that part up, after all... Then I started making a mess to make it look like there had been a struggle at some point. I got a little carried away kicking the tomato box, but that's okay, because I discovered the joy of painkillers in the process!"
Cave pops another mysterious opiate
"Oh, and I also left the bottle there to make it super obvious, but somehow, nobody found it, so I had to pick it up myself.
Then I went back to my room and faked being attacked. I didn't think things were mysterious enough yet. I pushed Huni out of the room when she arrived because I needed to plant some seeds in someone's mind, and Huni wasn't likely to trust me, so Gourd got to witness my new act first.
Now, how is this all relevant to Jay's murder?
It isn't! But c'mon, obviously I couldn't have killed him, I was too busy doing other things! It was fun seeing how people reacted to the cafeteria..I wasn't expecting to get a close up of such a cool talent, either.
Gourd seems like they were too busy being a creeper to have been killing anyone..so..
I don't know who could have done it other than Hex! I spooked Huni into staying in her room, and Dudesoft is in some kind of a coma. Everyone but him at least partially has some kind of an alibi. There's reason to believe that Jay was drugged, and this guy's a freaking ALCHEMIST? He can probably make sleeping medicine out of bread and dirt!

He can probably make sleeping medicine out of bread and dirt!
OOC: This made me laugh so freaking hard (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖
"Yes, but I'm not the only person on the planet who knows how to identify common chemicals and drugs! I mean, I didn't have to explain why cyanide was bad, did I? They're all labeled! And you expect us to believe your faffing about with cyanide and laxatives was all for giggles, AND you'd been harmlessly lying until just now isn't incredibly convenient?? You're trying to pretend being the most suspicious person makes you the least suspicious person, it makes no sense!"
"Uhhhh, this is about what I figured, Cave. Except instead of going right to your room you also slipped Jay some cyanide and drowned him.
I guess Hex doesn;t have an alibi either, but really neither do I? The part where you try to push the murder onto Hex is the most suspicious part."
(this was the part that got me XD)

"Also, uh, I don't know what part of your story I missed? I was only watching the dorms. This is all information I knew as far as the dorms are concerned."
"Alright, I think all the cards have been put on the table by this point. We might as well vote."

"Duh, dummy! If I had poisoned Jay with cyanide, what would the point of drowning him be? And why would I leave a scene in the kitchen to be intentionally discovered? Plus, how do you think little old me is gonna wrestle a guy like that and drown him when I've got a broken foot? You really think..um...headaches and dizziness....is gonna be enough to do it? And when would I have had time to do it, anyway? I may be great, but even I can't move that fast!
There was nothing missing from your story, Gourd I just wanted to see what you would say! Anyywaaaay, try to execute me if you want. Like this fraud headmaster's punishments could ever hurt me!"

"Okay, now that bring it up, the cyanide trick is seeming a little less likely. The scene in the cafeteria seemed completely arbitrary in the first place. It was probably to throw in some red herrings while we were investigating.
I looked at the cyanide label and it said that loss of consciousness happens in later stages of cyanide poisoning. You;d have to lug him around which might be difficult but not impossible. Most of what you did couldn't have taken that long whihc leaves plenty of time for you to slip him some cyanide, wait for him to become unconscious and then drown him. Maybe you had originally planned to kill him with the cyanide but lost your patience and drowned him.
Hm... that does sound difficult to pull off, but there's not a better suspect as far as I'm concerned the alternative is Hex, but he's seemed much more innocent throughout this entire process.
Gonna go with my gut!"

(I think my theories on how the murder went down are off, and hex's eagerness to vote is a little scary, but I think we got the right person)
