Just watched the trailer, and I still don't like that this movie is about the internet. I wanted another movie about videogames but no one at Disney is apparently a real gamer so the new movie is about mindless internet BS.

But maybe I'm just being pessimistic. Maybe this film will be great.
What do you think?

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I'm not four years old so I don't really care? I don't think anybody old enough to type cares about Wreck-It Ralph.

Cartoons are not just for four-year-olds, LockeZ, and I'm a bit disappointed that you have that mindset. You never struck me as being that kind of close-minded, because clearly, there are cartoons made for children that you DO like.

Personally, I never saw the first one, even though I actually want to, so I don't have a pony in this race.
The 1st Wreck It Ralph was funny and had a good number of video game references, it was an all around good time. I certainly recommend it Pianotm :D
As someone who adored the original, everything about the new one has me going "...PLEASE don't suck."

It's really a shame that I'm not really able to have any faith in it. :s

I mean, the original made me sit up and pay attention when they revealed what the story was actually about (Dealing with not liking what you are, and trying to make a change, even if it may not be in your best interest), combined with the flood of neat gaming references.

This one so far is just "lol internet memes". Until they give me something to be interested in, I can't really have any faith in it. I'd prefer that it be about gaming/arcades and not the internet, but if they have a solid story hook I'd be down for it regardless.

Hey now, no need to be like that.

Just because you don't see the appeal doesn't mean others can't. I don't get what people see in Monopoly, but I'm not going to openly judge them to their faces about their taste in (IMO) terrible board games.

I mean, there are definitely animated shows and movies I like. But from everything I know about Wreck-It Ralph, it's on the entertainment level of Sesame Street or Dora the Explorer, right? Just with a bunch of old video game cameos and references thrown in to keep the parents from being quite as bored when they go to the movie theater with their kids.
Oh, LockeZ. Poor poor LockeZ. It is so much more than that. So much. Wreck it Ralph like many other Disney and Pixar movies have way more than what Sesame Stress or Dora the Explorer could EVER hope to have. Relatable and likable characters, villains that make you angry but you know it wouldn't be the same without them, emotional scenes... Wreck it Ralph is just another one of them, with great GREAT graphics and very well done story.

As for the 2nd one. I don't mind the internet as long as it's done correctly. I always dread sequels to most if not all animated movies I like. Because I'm worried about how it won't be as good, not because I have high expectations because of how I liked the second one... but if Disney and Pixar gets a lot of money from any movie, they will make a sequel for it even if they have to force some idiotic idea and squish it together into a horribly, forced broken disappointing sequel story of the before movie. I hope they aren't doing that with Wreck it Ralph, as they did with Finding Dory.

EDIT: As an autistic nineteen-year-old girl, I will always prefer animated movies over reality movies and shows. My list of favorite movies has a lot more animation than anything else. I find them more pleasing and interesting, as well as there's much much more you can do with animated movies than with anything else. I don't care for Marvel, I only liked about three of them and the others just didn't speak to me. However, they are extremely popular for a reason I don't understand.

I suppose it deals with opinions, but I have seen my nine-year-old brother look forward to a Marvel movie more than the animated movies coming out, and my 40-year-old mother looks forward to an animated movie over a lot of other movies. To each their own. But to say something such as that, it proves how little you know about the animatic world and its fanbase <3 Maybe you should try watching it from your own eyes, it's definitely one of my favorites. It shows many lessons and the moral of the story is fantastic.
I want it to be about Ralph getting addicted to prescription pain killers while working at his thankless factory job, and then he turns his ire on immigrants and 90s-era trade policies after he loses his job and health insurance and has no other way to cope with the debilitating withdrawals.

I haven't seen the first one, though, so I'm just spitballing here.

Going to join my voice to the choir going "It's actually a really good and clever movie"

People who saw it lied to me then.

In that case my vote goes to making it be about radio shows.

I loved the original, and the creators said when it came out that if they got to do a sequel, they'd love to do it about the internet.
As optimistic as I am, I heard that all the Disney Princesses were shovelled into this movie. Which makes me cringe.

There's a thing at Disney that says you have to pander to boys and girls. There's no blanket for both. Boys like fighting, girls like dolls; is the general idea.
Wreck-it Ralph, therefore, was about a brute who breaks stuff. And where does he go? A bright pink candyland with all sorts of cute princesses. It is NO mistake that he went to candyland.

Then production of Rapunzel is another one. The people in charge of marketing surmised that little boys don't want to watch a movie called, "Rapunzel". So they named it Tangled. Same goes for The Ice Queen > Frozen.
These titles are for Disney Princess films that boys wouldn't be interested in (according to the House of Mouse), renamed to be cool and catchy.
Zootopia was about cops and robbers (boys) and starred a cute little bunny girl (girls).
So here is Wreck-it Ralph 2. Instead of being about online gaming, which is mostly FPS and stuff (boys stuff), they can focus on Disney Princesses (girls) and probably lots of crazy action (boys). I'm TRYING to be optimistic about WR2, because the writers are great, but I am hesitant to give it any sort of pre-approval.

...Holy shit. Now that you mention it...
Thats a pretty interesting analysis Dudesoft. I believe it, a mega-corporation like Disney is always looking for ways to attract everyone so that it can maximize profits.
