snake-clad mostly naked woman?
It's fur!
If everyone has enough common sense not to do it anyway then you shouldn't complain that there is now a rule against it.
Uh, except that by the letter of that rule (while not by common sense) we should censure your phallic image and karsuman's awesome image because they are both just as "sexually suggestive" (a vague generality) as rasta's sig?
In other words brandon, I am saying that much hated phrase it is the principal of the thing.

I know it doesn't matter all that much. But any rule, no matter how minor, should not ever result in"Also, I am staff, so I get some leeway! =D"even jokingly.
(I mean come on guys, integrity.)
WIP would B& me as fast as anyone else if I were to post porn, so yeah, I wasn't being serious.
I am all for Kars keeping his avatar, and Harmonic keeping Ayla. I mean, it's Ayla, for crissakes. It's not like he can have her in a robe and you still be able to know who she supposedly is... her fur outfit is pretty much HER.
As for taste, i'd keep it at "Ok, sideboob is the limit, come on, you need more than that to represent you, go visit a hentai site"

You guys are up in arms for no reason. Harmonic and Karsuman's avatars are fine. It's also a massive stretch of the imagination to consider brandonabley's avatar an offense of this policy.
Yes, this rule was primarily created do to one individual, but that's how things work. We didn't have this as a formal rule before because, quite honestly, we didn't need it. Now we want to make it clear that it's not cool. Moderators are instructed to err on the side of the user if it's questionable and this will not be something that is actively policed. However, we must make all attempts to make sure our forums don't end up like Something Awful.
Also, Max, you need to settle down with the "ONLY PURITANS" argument you've been using here. This decision was not based on anyone's religious or moral beliefs -- actually the first person who brought it up is an agnostic and very liberal. It's stupid no matter what your background is. The "Puritan" defense seems to be your default argument whenever someone disagrees with you on lifestyle issues. There are lots of people out there, and not everyone that disagrees with you is a pilgrim.

It's embarrassing reading about things here when many people have drawn sexual pictures. I definitely always close to the window whenever someone comes by as I'm reading the forum. I have no idea why people have such attachment to such things. Why would someone want to have an avatar of two drawn girls kissing (for example)? I'm actually not sure now how people chose their avatars, and am genuinely quite curious. I always thought they're supposed to be a picture of some sort that is a visual representation of your personality or something, but I guess others disagree.
I also dislike all signatures period, and think they're completely useless and make a thread look messy. I don't expect that sort of idea to be accepted though at a gaming forum, so it's all good.
It's not being a prude to say there's a time and a place. People don't look at porn sites at work/school, but they may want to look at an rpg making site, and sexual content would be a detractor. Likewise, maybe people're not looking at porn sites when their wife/girlfriend/mom is around, but would like to look at an rpg maker site. Pretty sure that's not being prudish, just separating different interests and realizing that in some situations, some things don't really slide.

Why would someone want to have an avatar of two drawn girls kissing (for example)?
Because I drew it and liked it enough to make an avatar out of it?
Seriously, though, I think you are over-analyzing. It's not like people put a ton of work into choosing their avatars - they just pick something they like and use it.
I wasn't attacking you, I was just genuinely curious. Sorry if I came off the wrong way.
Does your reply suggest that if it's not thought about too much, then people don't care if it's something else or not? Or perhaps it's just because it's what people whimsically want to do and they feel they shouldn't have to change something that isn't meant to be a big deal, and they feel shouldn't be a big deal, but when such a small thing gets attacked, people get defensive. Which I suppose makes perfect sense, and my work viewing habits shouldn't really get in the way of that.
Hmmmm.

Uh because not everyone is GAY? :P
Anyway...I randomly stumbled on this video and it made me think of this topic/debate.
It is almost certainly safe for work and should lighten the mood.

This song is from Avenue Q.
But as I'm probably the only theater dork here, I bet I'm the only one who cares about that.
Also, I sort of made a "0.o" face at Karsuman's av when I first saw it. But then again, I'm a girl, so I guess I'm entitled to make that kind of face.

That but we are also horny males. Karsuman's avatar is a pleasure to look at.

Hmmmm.
At one time my avatar was a pear with an asscrack, FYI. =)
What ever happened to Asspear, anyway?
