New York is huge, and you must only know people who live in the bad parts. The city itself is relatively safe.

I clerked for my dad on time and some dude came in with a shotgun and tryed shoving it in my face. Here's how I know he's a retard (and how I know I was thinking fast).

He actually leaves the gun on the desk and goes to look.

I've almost been shot before in Denver. Now there's something that will test how your mind handles pressure at the time.

There was some gang violence between the Bloods and the Crypts in New York when I went to visit ... and that was an experience I'll surely never forget and Is the main reason why I haven't gone to U.S.A. ever since ... It was fucking scary, shit like that never happens here ... Everything is so calm and stuff lol

Ok well here are the details:
I forgot what part of NY we were in, but basically my mom stopped to buy some grapes (She couldn't have picked a better time) So me and my brother had to wait for her. Then some guys came out of another shop and they started saying:
"Blood up, Blood up!" (I think that's what they were saying)
I know the color for the Bloods is red and the Crips is blue right? And my brother was wearing a Blue jacket, so I'm pretty sure that's why they came over to us ...
So the dude is like "What you ain't got no love for the bloods?" Then out of fucking no where, we hear some shots go off and me and my bro immediately run into the shop. Across the street were another group of guys that appeared to be Crips (The Blue), so the group of Bloods that were harassing us run away while the Crips started chasing them and shit ... It was pretty fucking scary!
Inside the shop my mom was freaking out and stuff she's like "Oh my God! We gotta get out of here!" So she calls everyone she can think of. The cops, a taxi, her friends ... she just wanted all of us to get the hell out of there.
So the taxi arrives and the guy could only hold 2 people ... so she sends me and my bro to the hotel and tells us to wait for her there.
And yeah that's pretty much all I can remember.

Honestly, I would probably have blubbered stupidly and let him rob me because I don't do well under pressure!!!!
But then again, more importantly, I would never have the luck to get held up by THE WORLD'S STUPIDEST ROBBER either. More likely, I'd be held up by someone extremely competent and intimidating or someone who would just outright murder me, for fun. That would be more in keeping with my luck!
I've never been confronted with any of that heavy stuff. Guns and knives and what not.
I have been in a fight, though, and before you ask, girl fights aren't as cool as men seem to think. There was no hair-pulling, slapping, punching or anything - probably because I'd made use of my hands by grabbing her wrists and making sure that she couldn't do anything but rant and rave.
After a while she ran out of steam, I talked her into leaving and the whole thing was solved.
Helped that the 'cavalry' arrived. ^.^

It's kind of hard not to get in the way of gang fights where I live. If you see a group of hoodies it best not to walk boldly through there or enter "enemy" territory.
I'm not violent most of the time but I somehow get tangled up in other people's mess and end up getting in fights. This mainly happened in school where I stuck up for my friends. I hate bullies too so I used to provoke them into hitting me. :D
Usually there's no winner (others break up the fight) but I need to increase my DEF more and learn to block my head from damage. Iron Helmet anyone?
Fighting isn't cool in my books but sometimes it's necessary I guess.

Oh, as a side note.
My girlfriend is fucking crazy and got into fights all the time in high school (often with boys, and won, or so I'm told, which is funny because she is tiny and petite) and would probably get into a lot of fights now too, if she was a boy and if girls getting into fights (outside of mud/jello/hot oil wrestling) wasn't a serious faux pas at this age.
Often I have needed to physically restrain her from beating up this one friend of ours (a guy) when he is being particularly annoying. Once she tried to beat him with a shoe!
She won't fight any girls though, which I think is silly, because there is this one little bitch who I find really annoying and I wish that my girlfriend would just suplex her, hard.

Back when I was younger I got into a few minor scuffles (I used to live in a compound estate where there was alot of rivalry for stupid kiddish things) but there was never anything major. I've been lucky enough to live in reasonably safe areas in my life, and now I even go to a posh grammar school where there is like not even verbal fighting, let alone punches being thrown.

tl;dr: Over 12 years of one girl making fun of me, I finally snapped. Nearly killed her. Never reacted once to her ripping up my books, stealing my homework to copy it then rip it up, calling me names, putting gum in my hair... and after 12 years, I beat her ass. My dad never found out because the principal was a friend of the family. <3

Used to fight a lot. During highschool I thankfully fell into the good crowd and gave that shit up. Fighting is over-rated.

My girlfriend got into a similar fight about 2 years ago where she reacted to a girl calling her a bitch over and over again and completely knocked her out. It was quite scary to watch.
