DO YOUR GAMES HAVE A CONTINUITY?
Posts
My "main series" has a continuity, yeah. The three games that exist so far all exist in the same world, and sometimes reference events that happen in other games.
Essentially...
Delusions of Duty -> Illusions of Loyalty -> Heresies of Discord.
Delusions of Duty is so tiny and self contained that it's not going to be important unless someone brings up the main character's name, or anyone visits that particular continent (unlikely, I have nothing planned for it).
Then Illusions happens, with a small parallel storyline happening in the background that you can pick up on if you investigate and talk to a lot of the NPCs until you can piece it together, and the game kicks off a bunch of stuff that may influence some politics in that world.
Heresies happens within days of Illusions concluding, references that parallel story (as it's that very faction that was involved in it), and proceeds to lay some more lore down while also kicking off something big that will operate in the background of the setting for quite some time.
Unfortunately, due to many reasons I haven't gotten around to making more in that setting, so...It's really not much of a timeline right now. XD Although I do intend to have continuity in any games in it because I find that helps worldbuilding in an interesting way.
My other games are all completely separate (ESPECIALLY The End), although Mayhem Maiden is set in the shared Arum universe, and if I ever want to make more retro dungeon crawly games, they'll be set somewhere in the Cursed Crown world, because why not.
