Well, I don't want to have to create a login for another website to read it...maybe post a chapter of the book in the thread and I"ll give it a read.

That... sounds normal to me. Like, of my six (or so) Creative Writing threads, maybe half of them had posts that weren't mine?
Though, being redirected to a log-in screen might affect people's willingness to read in the first place.
