SMASH BROS. TIER LIST

Why Yoshi Rocks:

B Move: Eats Opponent and turns them into an egg. Get an advantage in getting items and smash balls and such.

Up + B: Throws egg. Also gets a bit of a boost in jump. Helps to stay above ground for a long time.

Down + B: A ground pound, that if used correctly, can be quite useful. Especially against characters that charge up attacks. They can't do anything about it. Also, it very much annoys your opponents! ;D

Left/Right B: Rolling egg. A little hard to use, but can get you around a stage very quickly. Very useful in flat stages.

Final Smash: One of the best in the game. Yoshi gets wings and can shoot fire balls that send the enemy flying and recieve a lot of damage. Lasts a long time. It does take some time learning, but it can get more than 3 kills if you're very lucky.

Other things:
Yoshi's flutter jump goes very high, and can easily confuse foes.
Yoshi can get smash balls very easily with his moves.
Yoshi's ground pound is much faster than Bowser's and much easier than Kirby's.

I'll admit that Yoshi sucked in Melee, but he is much better in Brawl. He is one the hardest characters to get a feel for, so a lot of people don't like him.

Yoshi didn't suck in Melee! If anything, he got nerfed a bit in Brawl (but they made up for it in other ways).

The main reasons I like Yoshi are that he can hit pretty hard and doesn't go flying very easily. He's a lot different than the other cast members, though, so he takes some getting used to. Anyway, as for...

decent argument
I try to take tiers at face value. I acknowledge that some characters have advantages over others, and some have a greater number of advantages period. But, when you start trying to divide them up and say "this one's ALWAYS better than that one," it stops sounding so convincing. There are far too many variables at play in Smash Bros (including all the characters' stats, the player's skill level, their strategy, the rules/stage/etc.) to definitively say one character is ALWAYS better than another. Applying the tier list to every possible situation in Brawl cannot be done, especially considering the very general terms in which the characters are listed. I don't know how they go about forming the tiers from tourney data, but if I saw the reasoning, then I might be more inclined to accept it.

This is why I don't place a lot of value on tiers. I'll acknowledge what they suggest, but in the end, I want it to be my skill that wins me the matches, not some big important list that supposedly sets the odds in my favor.
anyway.... uhm... Sheik is still my favorite despite the fact that her glaring weaknesses can be frustrating. Like... not being able to kill anything.

I haven't played this in about 3 months though, I lent it to a friend and haven't asked for it back yet. But she lives within walking distance so maybe I'll do that tonight.

In SSBM I only used Link... I couldn't land a hit with any of the other characters and I could beat most opponents with him... Although my main weakness with Link was his lack of speed (or rather his reaction time which was too long after an attack) and my roomie, who I've been practicing with since years at about equal skill level, exploited that weakness with Capt.Falcon. Now with SSBB, Link got dumped in favor of Pit and I regained my status quo with my roomie.

You too can save a poor child who has no skills at SSBB. Dial 1-800-555-6756 to order a Pit right now for only $36.95! What a deal!

Well in Brawl Link gets dumped for Toon Link IMO. People think TL is a Young Link clone, but i assure you, he is not. He feels and moves a lot different.
He is pretty damn strong!
He has great speed.
His aerial attacks are pretty nice.
And his final smash is really good as well and as great range

All around, he is better than Young Link and Link for sure

I do agree, I was quite surprised when I unlocked him and fought with him for the first time; Toon Link is probably also one of the main improvements I've seen in SS characters (if compared to his counterpart in SSBM) and is also a really good character.

Mmmh, now I feel like I should practice with him!

You should!
He is a really good character. Damn, how I wish I had a Wii now
I never really liked using toon link. Ike was the best character. :)

I would liked Toon Link more if he didn't have all the same B moves as Link. There's enough variety in the Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass/Minish Cap items that they could've given hims unique attacks. Aside from that, though, he is a remarkably tough character. He seems like he's just a little too strong for his speed, and a little too hard to KO for his weight. Again, I just wish there was a bigger difference between his and normal Link's moves. Sometimes it seems like the creators just aren't trying!

Same thing i was thinking hali ...
I mean i was always thinking they were going to add a Majora's mask Young Link with unique attacks from that game. Or even just add the Skull kid with Majora's Mask as a playable character ...

But yeah as you said, there was enough variety in wind waker items to add to his attacks. Will they be able to update the game? Like add new characters and stuff, or is the roster permanently set

It's set in stone. We'll just have to hope they aren't so close-minded next time...three Landmasters, come ON...
