Is there any reason Pixel Game Maker is not talked about here?
I've been using it, it's not that bad.. but there's like.. no forums anywhere talking about it... supporting it.
Yes, it's still in early development and an early access, but i've found no forums that wanna talk about it.

Because nobody wanted it.

In my case it's because it's a Very Bad Engine.

I sincerely don't believe they will make it any better. Who even knows if they're still working on it. Probably not, after seeing the almost universal negative reaction.
Most people here just wanna make RPGs anyway. The ones that aren't are already using stuff like gamemaker. It doesn't exactly fill any void along with how bad it looks.

The concept of pixel game maker mv was very attractive to me which is a real shame, but really there is nothing ATM that justifies spending such a big buck in this engine when you can do the same things it does with many other cheaper/free/open source engines out there. Putting game maker aside I can think of construct 2, Godot, Solarus, gDevelop, all of these work splendidly and don't have a complicated and butt-fuckingly ugly interface.
I don't know what it is. But I assume they have official forums. And if it's in beta it makes sense that no one outside the official forum would care much about it.

I definitely recall a thread that talked about Pixel Maker MV on this site, maybe a year or so ago. I didn't follow it very closely, though.

For what it's worth, it apparently is available on Steam. Which I suppose makes some sense.
Okay.. so.. only reason i asked was cause i was going to post information about the project i'm working on with it.. for now just screenies..
I was not sure if there was a rule against it or anything..

Oh, there isn't, this site accepts all kinds of games from all engines, despite the name.
I've been keeping an eye on this engine for quite some time myself, waiting for a big sale so that I could pick it up. I was under the impression it was easier to use for those of us who don't have the patience to learn scripting, but I haven't heard much of anything about the engine either. It's rather bizarre.

Yup, submit a gamepage using the "Submissions" tab up the top if you have a few screenshots. As long as you have a decent description and a few informative (in-game) screenshots, you have enough to make a gamepage and start generating some hype. Games from every engine are welcome here.

As far as I know, there should not be any kind of barrier to submitting a game (or posting screenshots to the screenshot thread) based on engine alone.

However, concerning gamepages, I do want to note that Pixel Maker MV is not currently listed on our engines page, and thus, would not be an available selection for when/if you do make a gamepage. That said, I think you would still use the "Custom" selection/category for the engine (unless the option becomes available later), and make a note on the gamepage that the game was made with Pixel Maker MV.
someone get me a 32x32 and 16x16 icons for it stat and I will whip it up! (PNG, with transparency)

What would we do without you kenton?
I was originally interested in the engine (due to the MV branding) but seeing as its kind of just a much worse version of Game Maker I stopped following it. I was hoping itd be to platformers and other genres what RPGM is to RPGs but the marketing was very missleading.

I'm shocked at all the negativity about the software.
I've been using it, it's not that bad.. and I love the user interface quite a bit.
It's been way easier for me than Game Maker Studio.. in fact I found the UI in GMS to be horrible and confusing.
This is the first software i've used to try and make my own platformer that i've actually been able to get anything done with!
Like, my player moves just like I want him to, jumps like i want him to, animates how i want him to.
So far it's been a piece of cake.
All the hate is leaving me scratching my head, and yes they're still working on it despite the comments about them not working on it.
My only negative comment about it is the fact that for objects (events basically) it uses a flow chart style.. which.. ugh.. i despise flowcharts..
But i used it enough to the point that i love it, and i can see myself ACTUALLY finishing a project.
It even comes with a tutorial you can turn on that literally walks you through the process of making something, giving you a damn good idea of what things do what and how they do such things.
I never would have bought the software, but a couple weeks ago, they had a free week of use, and i gave it a shot.. i complained a little.. but i freaking love it.
hell, i like it more than RPG Maker, and that should tell you something.

By the way, once I have some combat done, and more of the gameplay done, i'll post a project page.

You're allowed to like it.

My problem with it stems from the fact that the engine doesn't make the kind of game I want to make. I have been complaining for years that Enterbrain should make a tactics engine, but they essentially released IG Maker 2.0.

If you look on Steam you can find a tactics engine that's doing reasonably well in sales. It's not a far fetched idea that making one would turn into a profit.

I would be really interested to compare the sale numbers of RPG Maker MV, Visual Novel Maker, and Pixel Game Maker MV. I think the sales would show a downward trend in sales.
