CloseI've had this on my mind FAR too often lately, and I need to rant.
This topic is for the discussion of one's relation with the gender of one's choice, be it ?, ?, or both (craze). Mostly, this topic is for hte lifting of weights such as the one I now carry. There is to be no depreciation of any such view given herein.
Here I am, stuck in the "friend" zone.
To lay things out simple, there be a female at my school who I have eyes for. About my age, maybe a couple months older (i'm an april birth thus almost everyone in my grade level is older than me). She's get black hair down her back about to her waist. About up to my chin in height, and bespectacled. She's cute - REAL cute - so you can see my issue here.
However, she seems oblivious to my... attentions. I'm a mere friend to her - p'raps she hasn't known anyone who acts in my manner before (the way you see me speaking here is pretty much the way I speak in actuality), but I'm fairly certain she has more than an idea of what's going on.
The main issue, however, is that her mother is CHOKING EVERY FUCKING MINUTE OF TIME I CAN SPEND WITH HER. I can't barely manage two minutes here, five seconds in the hallway, maybe a half-hour after school should Lady Luck smile upon me. One can see very quickly how this can become frustrating. And too add to this, she's completely cool with it! She never sees a problems with being dragged home to mother's lair, out of the range of my attempts at socializing. Maybe - just maybe - she knows, and disapproves? That would be (simply put) devastating. Some mebers might recall:

Now, how many of you want to share a similar tale? Or perhaps some of our members ASA managed to get their dream girl? Maybe they could relate a tale of personal triumph? POST!

First of all, this is a pretty good topic. Keep in mind like Chaos said, this is a general relationship topic. Post whatever you're thinking that pertains!

As for my advice, the biggest pitfall in getting a girl in your situation is that the guy is often so nice and careful that it works against him, and you never actually put yourself as a desirable prospect to the girl. In cases like this, you actually have to put it out there to the girl. No, I'm not talking about something like 'NICE SHOES WANNA FUCK', but if you fail to distinguish yourself as a friend then the girl will pretty much just...think you're a friend! If you want to get a girl as a girlfriend you have to put yourself out there as boyfriend material.
How well do you know this girl?

Pretty well. We shared a homeroom in ninth (myself being tenth this year).
One main thing I neglected to mention: NO NAMES. One's interest are to remain anonymous, even if it becomes completely obvious who is being referred to.

Chaos, the more you move into friend territory, the deeper a hole you dig from which you can't get out of.
You want to get them to notice you, you have to be confident, pro-active, and make sure you don't shoot yourself in the balls by becoming so much of a friend they remove you from the list of prospects altogether.
Also, don't smother em', either. You call too much or you seem too desperate to hang with them, they will sense that like sharks can sense blood even if it's diluted 50000 times, and if there's one thing that'll turn a chick off QUICK, it's desperation.

"Guys with no risk/initiative usually aren't bold enough to get the girl, because some scumbag who wasn't taught critical thinking skills won't 2nd guess himself when approaching a woman, and will make no fuss about generating some sort of false mystique as an attraction tool, whereas the nice guy will wear his heart on his sleve, making him easy prey and thus, not appealing."

No Feld. It hurts me to talk about it, and it won't *solve* anything, so why bother? You guys knowing and critisizing me won't help anything -_- I know my faults, but I'm too nervous to do anything about them irl, so I compensate online.

It's not that I'm nervous about the girls - I'm nervous about changing myself. I'm pretty happy with how I am, I don't wanna change something to try and get a gf and lose all teh friends I have.
