[MAFIA] SPY VS. MAFIA II DAY 3

Literally about to go out the door, Cap_H can you paraphrase the pm that gave you the item please?
Three of us have had items and know the style and type of description that goes with them. It's one way you might convince me that the item is real.

I don't think Cave puts this much effort into winning as scum. I might be wrong, tho. He's definitely well educated in english and capable of changing his posting style. Psy is the only other player I can imagine staying anonymous. Cave voting Demon at a crucial moment is another detail.
Just to state my current opinion:
#lynch Jeroen

My understanding is that piano is "rolling" the items without any thought as to balance, so the game could still be in a winnable state with you as last scum + undaykillable if, uh, Odd hadn't been flushed.
Shouldn't hurt to verify.

The reason the rules about not quoting mod pms is in place is to prevent this sort of metaanalysis on their language

I can but I'd prefer not. The reason is simple. Paraphrasing PMs from moderator shouldn't be how we solve people in Mafia.
So you already used the item? That's very unfortunate. You could have proven it at least. What is it called?
It would be a risky move for the true double, whose only goal is literally to survive. Revealing yourself in the topic at a time when the final agent has also been revealed is a very safe (smart) play for them. Giving that information to the final scum and possibly being targeted by the lynch seems way more dangerous for no real payoff. The double agent would most likely choose the safer route.
I think we can trust Jeroen. He has no reason to lie, he is safe either way. Well, unless we just wanted to be sure we could influence the outcome of the game in SOME way even if it didn't benefit us, and chose to lynch him. But I'm not that vindictive.

I strongly suspect that who gets what item is completely random.
If cap is undaykillable, that leaves cave and milk on the table for me. All I have on Cave is he wrote a three paragraph defense essay on me when AE was on the offensive and then switched his vote to me when AE was ruled not-scum, claiming cap is somehow less palatable based on reasoning I think is bunk. And while scum-Cave wins as long as he doesn't die today, I don't put it past him to dick around once he's already won.
I originally considered chasing Milk today to be a strike against cap. I might take Milk over cave though for the flattery in this post: https://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/24744/?post=889976#post889976
bad memories of Ozzy playing clueless, flattering innocent and tricking piano into murdering me on his first game

Yeah @Cap I can't think of any scenario where Jeroen claims to be gray but is actually scum. His claim hasn't actually changed the course of the game. He didn't save anyone by claiming. His evidence hasn't eliminated anyone, and (mostly) hasn't incriminated anyone. He wasn't in danger of dying himself.

Yeah that's what I mean. So if the dice say "oh well, make the game unwinnable" then that's what happens
I would be curious to hear more from LockeZ before the end. And I guess if there is no chance of killing Cap, I would go for Cave.
But I'm kind of on board with just trying to lynch Cap anyway? He says he has this magical item which protects him, but like...that sounds way more powerful than the other items I know of.
The name of the game seems to be that items have hard to control effects, and are just as likely to do something useless than what you want. Which would make sense given the theme of the game.
One is a VERY random detective item which shows up once per day apparently and could fall into the hands of scum, the other is my mostly-useless (and still very random) magnet. A bulletproof item seems like it's a big step up. The other items are basically less reliable versions of regular abilities (makes sense given the theme), while Cap is claiming he basically has what amounts to a regular role ability. And conveniently he already used it, so we can't see the proof.
It could so very easily be a bluff.

Well, or we played really badly for long enough and forced our agents to claim first thing so that now yes, with scum having a single helpful item the game is unwinnable.
But you know, either way.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Cap, I think you're flailing.
If this were the case scum wouldn't need code names. Also there would not be anyone left in scum chat except me.
My knowing an agent code name and Odd not countering my claim confirms I am in that chat. There cannot possibly be a third scum. If you think that Psy and I coordinated something, you are accepting I am the double agent.
I have no reason to lie, and you know it. I am just making the game more interesting for myself by levelling the playing field and trying to win with both town and scum.
If a lynchproof item really exists then we need to lynch piano irl. I don't buy it.
All of this combined with your disgruntled nature at my reveal makes me think it really is you.

One thing I was thinking about is that we can't 100%% trust Jero's claim. There might be another part to it, which he hasn't revealed to us. For example, what if he's the last wolf and a double agent? In that case he's only trying to mislead us. We can lynch anyone and he would win by killing odd at night.

Psy makes most sense as the third scum. He pushed Odd, based on spy names tmi. I think that push he and Jero made looks quite synchronized.

I can believe it exists.
But given what we've seen so far, I would more believe it's something like: "Single use. It takes one less vote to hammer you. When you are lynched, there is a 50% chance you survive and the day ends immediately. Does not transfer."
None of our items have been perfect. They've all been very random, and generally were just as dangerous for the one using them as for anyone else. I would only vote to lynch Piano IRL if this item was any different.
Yeah while I realize I'm on a very short list for "worst townie", it's still frustrating to me that this setup is between two teams of "informed minorities trying to find another informed minority," where the teams differ in name only, and we're supposed to kill the one called "spy" but not the one called "agent." when the players in each would be playing identically.
Oh it fits perfectly, for sure, but a better strategy for me this game would've been to say nothing and just play the tuba.
@Cap: I think that's 3/5 votes. Do you know what happens if you get daykilled while under cakeprotection? does the day end or just the hammer not fall?
re: cap claiming a lynchproof item that actually does something else: if it's a trap it's one we would've hit anyway trying to kill him regardless

With 9 alive, it takes 5 to hammer.
If my terrible vote count is wrong, I'm terribly sorry.
I'm also very sorry you're not enjoying the game, but I am not going to give you technical details of the game's design just because you've made a bunch of assumptions and have decided to completely derail the thread so that you can insult the moderator's basic competence as a developer. However, you are derailing the game with this discussion. If it does not stop, I may have to do something drastic since so many people have decided they'd prefer to talk about that instead of playing the game.
