Someone should do it, a game maker program with really basic 3D character and Map sets in like DS graphics (FF3), but you can upload OBJ's if you can make your own and can edit the pixel textures but keep all the coding options which you find in RMVX/XP etc.
Would you guys convert over if they did?

Hmm... sounds cool, but have never played FF3, original or the DS verison. What do you mean by uploading your own OBJ's?
Would it be kind of like making/downloading custom objects for something like The Sims?
It might be kind of cool if you could make different models and then do skins for them. Idk I'd probably mess around with it but I'd stick with RMXP.

Probably wrong forum.
Anyway as much as part of me hopes and prays that more and more awesome game making utilities are created and released, part of me hopes against it, knowing that the ones there are eat far too much of my life as it is!

It's already been done Rpgmaker 3D on the Playstation 2. Rpgmaker 2&3, just look them up on Youtube and you'll see what I'm talking about.
People won't stupid stop using stupid RPG Maker 2000 so probably not :(
There are a few products out there that sort of fit this description. Torque3D, for example.
Also I am moving this thread!

yeah i see your point, the pixel fanbase is abit too big becasue of too many people ripping sprites from old games making it easier to edit and make their own content but i just hope it branches off, id never want pixel to die out, just to open more opertunities.
the ps2 RM sucked lol.
a pc version to make your own content would be nice y'know.
one day maybe ^__^

I´d hope more for 3D action/fighting game making engine, RPGs can be just text, 2D, 3D or whatever, they are about concept mainly and NUMBERS as Crazy loves to say.
But action oriented games sure would benefit from a 3D engine.
The point lies in who would program that until completion, which formats would it be compatible with and if they would leave it open for commercial games.
Also let´s not forget that there are actual fans (and a lot of then) who like to PLAY play 2D games :)

I made one game using the ps2 version but yeah i prefer creating my games on the PC.
they need to make more game makers if they did, ive noticed people trying to make platformers and shootem ups in RMXP over the past few years they should sort that out.

Hitpoints developed a 3D RPG Editor along with their Tactical RPG Editor a few years ago, that only recently was finished in translation by Megaman. I have a copy of it, but I can't get it to run (runtime error, go figure).
However, as far as I can tell, it's pretty crappy. At least the output is, anyway.

Actually, in the past we here at Game Over Games Productions once began to make a 3d action-rpg game. Didn't last all to long thanks to the work involved in it, but I remember having swords and a fireball spell working. Maybe one day it will be dragged back up from the ashes, but I don't even think I have it anymore.
Also, the newest rpgmaker for the PS3 isn't so bad. And if you buy a keyboard for it you don't have to spend hours inputing your text.

the only problem is that the community wouldnt grow too much on a consol based 3D RM, and its only sold in USA and JP, europians couldnt join into it. :/
Welcome to the wonderful age of consoles can be hooked up to internet. Now if only I didn't have to worry about someone creating a virus to wreck my $600 PS3.
