DSI

I'm probably going to pick one up. I'm still on a DS Phat, and the lighting issue is getting worse. And I rarely play GBA games on my DS anymore anyway--Mother 3's the first I've played in months, and I'll be finished with that before the DSi comes out anyway.
It's not a deciding factor, but it'll be nice to only have to carry my DSi, and not my DSi AND my iPod around with me if I want to listen to music.

I'm getting one. My light has too many problems. Touch Screen is unresponsive, and the left hinge as broken 3 times since I got it 2 years ago. I hear it's more powerful that the PSP browser wise, and the graphics card has gotten a huge update.
I doubt the graphical upgrade goes farther than just upping the size of the screen (note: resolution is the same). You change the hardware and now developers have to choose if they want to use the new hardware or alienate everybody who has an older DS, and I doubt developers would cut out a huge market just for prettier graphics. So even if there was a better GPU in the DSi, developers wouldn't use it (and Nintendo would know this too so why spend money on a better GPU?)
I can see more RAM so the DSi firmware can do more than pictochat (and its much cheaper than a GPU) but I'd doubt any game would take advantage of it for the above reason.

Well like the PSP received a hardware upgrade over its iterations, but it is used to just make existing games run more smoothly and reduce load times (faster memory). But the UMD drive still sucks.

That's true. I just had grander ideas of an upgrade in my mind, something more like a between-generations upgrade or something like that booster pack for the N64.
I heard the DSi doesn't work with flash cards so I am not getting one. Also, I do not care at all about the camera they slapped on, or whatever.
Hmm if someone could confirm the ability to emulate on it (without modding), I'd probably get one but unless that happens I'm probably sticking to the old gray fat one I have.
