im paulie, a chef.
i'm 37, cause i hate when people think im some teen. so, long time gamer. i love playing everything from puzzle to fps. rpgs have always been my favorite though cause i've always thought of them as fighting books. awesome fighting games like D&D i also played. i've always enjoyed creative writing and being able to add as much life or depth to something at my leisure. i already have a bunch of stuff i've written out in the past and instead of trying to find a group of people to play it. i wanna take the right steps to adapt it to a rad game any single player could enjoy. but i just wanna take my time doing it.
for the non game stuff. i grew up around computers, windows 3.1 and dos were my norms back then. so i've been interested in learning more about about i can do with them as a tool and such.
i'm really looking for like a list of things i really need to learn if i wanna do this. and do i need to learn anything in any specific order?
thanks for your time if you read,
any response is welcomed.

I don't know if there is an order of operations, as it were, to learning how to make games. For what it's worth, what I've done with some projects is to dedicate them to learning some skill, or skillset. Like, how can I make a projectile that interacts with objects similarly to a player? Or, can I make a space-trading game? Or, is it possible to I re-create a Suikoden-like experience? Or, how closely can I replicate ArcoMage?
Some of these might be more extreme examples, but, the general idea still stands.
