CloseI saw this art theft earlier and I wonder if this is really okay?
Someone has pointed it out already, but I can also clearly tell they are rips from Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI. This guy also deletes any comment that points this out.
This game exist here on this site and is marketed as "Commercial". He also asks for money on Patreon. He was also very clear in the comments that they are not placeholders.
How should I proceed to report it?

For future reference, send a PM to Liberty with a link to the gamepage, and also link a few examples of ripped content that are on RMN. I've let her know, but, we appreciate your concerns nonetheless!

tl;dr -- I assumed so, Dyhalto? At worst, at least for older games?
From what I understand, RM2k/3's heyday was in the Wild West phase of the internet. Emulators were a hot new thing and hell, a legal copy of RM2k/3 wasn't a thing outside of Japan till recent years. But you know that already. I assume that retroactively there's no qualms for ripped assets, but don't hold me to that. I know that some more recent games have used songs from outside sources. For example, Pilgrim's Road uses a Neverwinter Nights song for its title theme. I may have peeked at the files. Is a good song.
So last I checked, I assume that rips are still allowed from emulated games, but could be looked down upon. There's no short supply of open assets, commercial or free, for any RM one may desire to use these days.
EDIT: That is of course assuming the rips are in free games! Selling them commercially is obviously illegal. There's been cases of devs here having their games resold commercially by thieves in the past too.

If you already got the name of the person and the game, you can probably hide or delete this topic to keep this matter from becoming too big. Should I still send proof of the art theft? It's pretty clear since most assets are easily recognizable from famous games, but I can send links with comparison and even gifs showing how they overlap perfectly. Today he even added a new post here with monsters taken from Trials of Mana from SNES. There is also an aircraft in one of the pictures with the leters A-8 in the front, which is the Keesi III from Metal Slug Advance.
P.S.: What annoyed me the most is that he claims to be an artist on Patreon, which means he is basically profiting on the art of others. I wouldn't mind much if it was a fan project without profit, stating clearly that it's not his art.
