I HAVE A PROBLEM LOADING DOWNLOADS INTO THE SITE

Hello, I'm new here and I never tried to upload a game here before, so I need help to stop being dumb.
When I tried uploading the game download onto the site, it was loading a long time and then it displayed "Secure connection failed". I tried again and it happened once more. I don't know if it's the issue with my internet or maybe my anti-virus, but other parts of the site are working perfectly. The file that I was trying to upload was a zip file, if it holds any relevance. Maybe I need rar?
Thank you,
Dumb rat.

How big is the file? If it's not that big, then your connection speed is the issue, and I can't help you with that.

Downloads over 450 MB cannot be added to the server, as per the submission rules. If that's the underlying issue, your options for hosting must lie outside of the site. If that's not your case, as painotm says, I'm not sure any of us could be of any assistance.
Thanks for clarifying about the limit. Turns out it's 676 MB. I won't be able to host it here, but that's fine, since it's already uploaded to the itch.io. I just wanted to have a few site options for people to choose from.

Yeah, if the file size is too big you'll have to lower it somehow. One of the best ways to do this is to put all your images your game uses into the site TinyPNG. Here is a link: https://tinypng.com It's an image compressor website and it's completely free and not a scam at all. You'd be surprised how much space this saves when you put all your images through it especially if your game has lots of images. If that fails and your file size still isn't small enough, you can try cutting out assets from your game's files that you are 100% sure you aren't using. If even that fails, you can lower the music quality slightly in Audacity (a free music program) to greatly lower the file size once again. Your game either has to be incredibly poorly optimized or unbelievably huge to be over 450 MB when compressed. Meteo Chronicles, a 30 massive hour RPG I made (which is still in development due to me losing the files and restarting twice) was only around 280 MB after compression and optimization.
