WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?

Posts

I haven't played a Metal Gear game since like 1988 on the NES. Are they any good?
yes but you're not allowed to play video games
Idk, I just played the Twin Snakes (remake of MGS1) and thought it was the worst game I'd played in like 5 years. I seem to remember the original being much better though (better controls, no awful screen adjustments, no matrix styled cutscenes with Snake doing crazy slow motion high flying backflips... like wtf were these guys thinking?). I have the PS3 HD collection, but since trying and failing to get through Twin Snakes, I just really don't have the motivation to start it up.
Adding Heroes Of Might And Magic V to my list
What was that terrible game you played 5 yrs ago then?

I don't think there are enough superlatives in the English dictionary to describe Advance Wars 2's campaign mode. While the other three games in the series had most missions requiring you to either capture the enemy HQ or clear the map of all enemies, AW2's got you fulfilling such objectives as defending yourself from enemy fire for a set duration, destroying pipelines in order to put an end to free-unit-producing factories and even preventing the enemy from carrying out repairs to their units. Not to mention throughout the campaign you end up using most COs in the game, each with their own strengths and weaknesses (with no one ending up overpowered), plus the maps themselves are extremely varied while managing to be perfectly balanced pretty much every time.

Every turn-based strategy game developer ever needs to notes from this game.

Been playing Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. a very fun shooter game, although I find the storymode abit short and meh.
I love the terrorist hunt, co-op with my brother and friends.

I haven't played a Tom Clancy game since the Playstation, and was never that impressed. Loved this one though.
After not playing it for about three months I resumed SaGa Frontier 1. I was pretty much at the end of Emelia's chapter where I got an insane scene and a last boss out of nowhere. Figuring I had forgotten something I did some review and.... nope. Not a thing.
(ps this is the game that fades to greyscale and THE END when you 'kill' another final boss)

I think I'm just going to wait for Mango to wrap up Romancing SaGa 3 (with a better translation and a real font) which will hopefully last until Gideon Zhi finishes RS2. I got The Last Remnant too which I might start and that's more SaGa than Galaxy Quest being an honorary Star Trek but I can't play it on the go.
Putting Agarest War 2 on hold for Tales of Graces F, which I want to fnish first (finish a jrpg? hahaha, yeah right).

It arrived today, and I was pleasantly surprised with the package. The version that I got has an art book, behind the scenes cd and the soundtrack. I just love when I get more than I think I'm going to get (strangely, it happens a lot with JRPGs that I buy in my country).

I'm a bit worried about the english-only voices, I always prefer the original japanese audio, in both JRPGs and anime (mostly because the english voice-acting usually sucks, or feels out of place)

Also, Guild Wars 2 is pretty fun. Just cleared the first Sylvari area. There is so much content I could cry. I can tell that I'm going to play this game for a long time. By the way, my Sylvari ranger is awesome. She has leaves instead of hair, and glows in the f**king dark. Heeeelll yeeeaaaah!

Hopefully to install FFXIII on my PS3 soon enough.

edit: Okay, not a game you can install, it manages to upload itself.

Excuse me ;(
I saw a copy of the Force Unleashed two for around six bucks, and figured why not. It couldn't possibly be as short as I had read.

Well, one afternoon later. Yup, yeah, I guess it is!

The game was mostly fun, except for the timing during the second "run towards the camera while the ground falls out from under you" section. What is this, 1996 again? Am I playing a Bandicoot?

The boss fight against a giant creature reminded me of watching a friend play God of War 3. Come to think of it, the flying sections reminded me of that as well. The boss fights were also too long. I know they were trying to make it feel "epic" and whatever, but the sixth time you have to repeat the same QTE section against one boss, when you haven't screwed it up, is about three times too many. Soul Reaver had it right - once you figure out how to hurt the boss, it should only take about three times to be done with it.

The game has very little identity of its own, not that it had a whole hell of a lot of time to get that identity established.

Anyone who played and beat the demo saw roughly 50% of the enemy resources. They just reshuffle them around and swap fire for carbonite. The worst part was that I actually beat the game without upgrading any of the powers or combos. I never felt the need.

I'd like to see a resolution to the story, but I'm afraid they would manage to make it even shorter. I don't want to sneeze and miss the game.

Hopefully, 1313 will be a bit longer... even if it is just Gears of War/Mass Effect combat set in the Star Wars universe.
Just finished Tales of Graces F, though only the main arc. Gonna complete the Future arc sometime in the future, and then perhaps move on to finishing Xenosaga Episode 1. Also playing Tales of Destiny on the comp. whenever someone else has control of the TV. =P

Revelations: Persona...the original PSX verson. There is something ridiculously trippy about this game - the first-person view is..something else.

Also, the soundtrack is freaking amazing so far. Top-notch production here; shame about the graphics.

Gosh darn it. Persona architecture: every building's a maze

EDIT: There's a black guy who's always getting into trouble (one of his first actions is getting locked in jail) and a evil corporation leader called Guido. ...and I thought zombie Hitler was bad.

EDIT EDIT: Oh, and I finished Advance War's 2 campaign mode. Definitely the best campaign mode of the series. No question.
Adding Age Of Empires III: The War Chiefs to my list, taking Heroes Of Might And Magic V off...
Ok, so I guess I'll finally give Treasure of the Rudras a chance... The thing is, I can't find any decent guide that points out missable items, secrets, and stuff like that. (I no longer have the patience to figure out these things on my own and I hate to restart a game for missing an important item) So, to all those who have already played it; Is there anything I should keep an eye open for?
I've been playing the hell out of Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

I'm loving it A LOT, but for some reason the bound system is bothering me much more than it did in Tekken 6. It's surely due to the fact that characters have less health now as a result of the tag system being back. If you get caught in a bounce and a juggle at the start of a match, you'll easily lose at the very least 50% of one character's life bar. An extreme would be losing about 85% of one character's health right off the bat from a single drawn out bounce + juggle combo. It's pretty crazy. Tekken was way better before bounce and juggles became as exaggerated as they are now. Still, it's a very fun game!
