WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?
Posts
I just obtained Star Ocean 2 for the PSP. "Oh, this should be a fun nostalgia stint!" I thought. After playing the game for just under an hour I can almost hear my brain itself CRYING OUT IN AGONY. It doesn't even have any of the hilariously terrible voice acting anymore.
"UH OH, THIS IS BAD, HERE *voice file cracking* ENEM-Y"
"UNEXPECTEDLY WEAK!"
"TEAR INTO PIECES!"

Prototype - I only rented it after a friend nagged me to death about it. It's alright, not the greatest game. I have more fun flying around the city like spiderman than doing the actual missions though. And looking for locations I've actually been to in NYC in real life.
The Elders Scrolls: Oblivion - I usually have periods of extreme interest in this game, followed by wanting to have nothing to do with it. I haven't touched it in about 3 months, and I just downloaded a bunch of new mods, so I'm gonna start back up with it.
Fallout 3 - I beat the main game and I only have 1 expansion...I'm waiting for Mothership Zeta to come out and then I'll probably download the rest of the expansions and start playing again.
Earthbound - I've beaten this game probably a dozen times, but every now and again I like to go back and replay it :)
Mother 3 - I finally got around to playing the English translated version of this. In a lot of ways it really maintains the feel of Earthbound, but at the same time there's a lot I really dislike about it. I think I'm about 3/4 of the way through.

Games I'm consistently playing:
Outcry (PC) - A first-person point and click adventure. Really good soundtrack, so-so voice acting, clever puzzles, interesting story. I'm having fun with it.
Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror (PC) - I hear this is the weakest of the series, but it's fun regardless.
Persona 4 (PS2) - STILL. I play this at 2-3 week intervals, using the entirety of that one day. Usually I beat a dungeon.
Final Fantasy 3 (DS) - STILL. I actually don't really like this one. Only play it on long car rides.
Dementium: The Ward (DS) - Not as scary as I'd hoped. It's basically a FPS version of Touch the Dead. Fun nonetheless.
Games I've started but don't really play all too much:
Mother 3 (PSP, GBA emulator) - Finally got to the point where you play as Lucas.
Crimson Gem Saga (PSP) - Battle system looks fun. Story might go somewhere, I dunno.
Final Fantasy X (PS2) - Waiting to beat Persona 4 before tackling this one.
Devil Summoner 2 (PS2) -Waiting to beat Final Fantasy X before tackling this one.
Devil Survivor (DS) - Maybe after I beat or get tired of FF3 and Dementium.
Manhunt (PS2) - Haven't been sadistic enough lately to play this one.
Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix (PSX) - Insane difficulty proves irritating.
Unlimited Saga (PS2) - It was like $2 and I was curious as to why everyone hated it.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (PSP) - Overwhelmed by the strict requirements for the best ending.
Breath of Fire 3 (PSP) - Got bored of it. Ten hours in.
Culpa Innata (PC) - A promising start, but I started playing when I was tired of point and clicks. Now that I'm back into them, I've already got more lined up.
Midnight Nowhere (PC) - Same as above.

Dungeon Lords
It's very buggy, though I figured out how to enable debug mode so most of the bugs I deal with, and I've seen better indie RPGs, but it does have a good variety of classes.

Jake Hunter Detective Story: Memories of the Past. It's like the investigation scenes in AA only more badass/realistic/easy (so far, at least - I just finished the first case)
Also the extent to which this game glamourises smoking is incredible. I can't wait to see it banned here in the UK for that very reason ;)
EDIT: Apparently the first version of this game which was released a few years ago had really bad localisation problems. Don't see any of that here; pretty smooth dialogue that sounds a lot like something out of film noir (which I guess is the main inspiration for the game)

I downloaded the Sourcemod "Age of Chivalry" and was pleasantly surprised. Other than that, TF2 and Star Ocean 2 for the PSP... Seriously; if you're bored, check out Age of Chivalry. The price is right (free) and it can be downloaded right off steam.
Currently playing Folklore for PS3, quirky enjoyable little game with a unique style. Also playing Final Fantasy 4 atm.
Lunar: Silver Star Story for Play Station. My god, that's one addicting game. You wouldn't think so by looking at videos of it, but it really pulls you in once you start to play! It's so simple, and yet has a certain charm to it... =O

I've decided to start playing my old PSX rpgs and I've started with Xenogears and Chrono Cross.
two great games right there :)
i'm waiting for a decent ds game to come to Europe.
I'm playing a lot of games right now. The last few days I have gone back to Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. I pulled it out after buying Little King's Story, wanting a break, and realizing I had unfinished Wii games. It's really good. The battle save feature combined with permenant character death push the player tackle each mission one round at a time, so the strategic elements take on a different flavor than they do in traditional strategy RPGs that require you to finish the mission in one go (but are more forgiving about failure). The last over-two-hour-long mission I completed did not feel like a single mission, but like fifteen ten-minute missions.
It's not bad. It's uplifting. I think the game is a little repetitive . . . I like to play it in short blasts. I wish it had some tutorials about sorting and group-selecting your units, because those features are in there, but are obscured. Several hours into the game, I started realizing that the controls weren't nearly as bad as I thought they were; I just hadn't been informed about certain functions.
I don't think it would be much better with pointer control. I generally find that the IR sensor is too imprecise and jumpy for almost every game ever. Its clumsiness was a boon to Resident Evil 4 though!
Why don't you import? The DS is region-free, and US retailers sell games for about half the price of UK retailers.

Wii - Little King Story. This game is incredible so far.
