OSTs for games that are widely claimed to be amazing, but in your opinion either don't live up to the hype or just suck. Here is mine.

The World Ends With You + Neo. This is one of my hottest gaming takes. Personally, I think the OST is TWEWY and it's sequel are god awful, literal ear poison. I've heard the OST for those games is an "acquired taste" but I thought they meant something like Persona's engrish, not ear-poison lyrical and rythumanic nonsense. I can't really describe what I hate so much about TWEWY's OST, it's just loud, random, and obnoxious. Here are some examples of what I mean:

It's completely off tune! I hate it!

This one isn't as bad, but something is just... off. Like, the song is slightly off beat or just not "complete." Maybe there is some sort of story significance to the music being so bad that makes the entire thing genius, but based on how much people "love the OST" I'm guessing not. Like, if I could hire some guy to rap (Lotus Juice?) and my brother to do mixing I could probably remaster this song to sound actually good with minimum effort.

As for other OSTs I find to be really overrated, Omori and Pizza Tower come to mind. Their OSTs are just beyond mid with not truly standout songs. Like, they're fine, but nowhere near the top of the list for best OSTs in indie games. I also think most Zelda OSTs are really overrated with really only 1-3 really good songs per game while the rest are either reused songs or just really mid. Gerudo Valley and all the final battle themes in OoT, Stone Tower Temple and Final Hours from MM, Ballad of the Goddess from SS, etc are all incredible top tier songs don't get me wrong, but when they're surrounded by so many just "passable" songs I can't say with good faith that Zelda as a series has one of the best OSTs in gaming. That honor would have to go to Sonic, Persona, Kingdom Hearts, Octopath, Bravely Default, Megaman, Xenoblade and Castlevania. Those series absolutely DEMOLISH anything from Zelda, Mario, or Kirby in a heartbeat.

The music in Fire Emblem games is the most mixed thing imaginable. In the Kaga Era the only game with good songs were Genealogy and Mystery of the Emblem, with the rest of the games having OSTs being mid to bad. Then we had a long era with heavily mediocre OSTs with the only standout songs from that era being from The Sacred Stones which was heavily limited by the GBA's bad soundchip and even then weren't amazing, the CD version of "Distant Utopia" from Binding Blade, and one of the map themes from Tullius. (I think it plays in Chapter 9 of PoR?) Then, awakening came with a largely mid OST once again but with one, awe-inspiring stand-out, "Don't Speak Her Name," a god-like track that's arguably the best song in the series that has never been toped and likely never will. The rest of Awakening's OST was quality, but not amazing. Definitely better than the GBA era and dark age tracks though. Then, came the holy trinity when it comes to Fire Emblem OSTS, Fates, Echoes, and Three Houses/Hopes. All absolutely amazing OSTs both in terms of battle, map, and cutscene themes. So many good tracks, including:
-Thorn in You (Fates)
-Road Taken (Fates)
-Alight (Fates)
-End of All - ENG Mix Ver (Fates)
-End of All - JP Mix Ver (Fates)
-Contest of Pride (Fates)
-End - Lost in the Waves (Fates)
-The Scions Dance in Purgatory (Echoes)
-Twilight of the Gods (Echoes)
-Tearing through Heaven (Houses)
-Chasing Daybreak (Houses)
-Apex of the World (Houses)
-Funeral of Flowers (Houses)
-God Shattering Star (Houses)
-At What Cost (Houses)
-Literally every original theme in Three Hopes

Meanwhile engage just goes back into mediocrity with no good songs minus the desert map theme, what a shame.

Anyways God of War and TLOU1&2 also have extremely mid music. The only good song in either of those series is the God of War main theme and that's it. The awards those games got at TGA for "best OST" are blatant proof the TGA has extreme bias towards Sony and their "cinematic" slop than games with actual effort put into their OSTs. FREAKING OCTOPATH TRAVELER ANDCeleste lost to GOSH DANG READ DEAD 2? You know, Octopath? The series with the literal best OSTs of all time? Octopath 2 literally made a sequel to god shattering FREAKING star and yet this year it will probably lose to Spider Man 2 or something stupid like that, if it even gets nominated in the first place. (which I doubt.)

TLDR: Everyone's music taste is bad except for me /s
