SECRET SANTA 2023 ::
Posts
Thanks so much kiyasu! If you're okay with me sharing them, I'd love to put your gift on the One Hour game page in a media section! I'm sure future players would find the videos very helpful, and I love the art! Also, you're right, the theme was poison. The character mistakenly cooked and ate a highly toxic mushroom that's easily mistaken for an edible one, and has very little time to concoct a treatment. The flare gun is used to call for medical help, while the treatment helps survive long enough for them to arrive. Everything referenced in the game is actually based on real-world events. The pages describe what's happening.
And I'm glad you liked your gift, pianotm! I guess I was overthinking it, but spoiler alert, I do that a lot. If you would like me to make the video public, I'm perfectly happy to do so, otherwise you can save the link and it can be just for you! :)

Yes, I already submitted the fan art at https://rpgmaker.net/games/12419/media/7948/ and about to submit the videos to your game's page but got distracted by talking to pianotm and then dinner. :'D Media stuff requires approval so it's currently pending approval. And ah, so that's what the flare gun was for. :O
Also, your gift to pianotm was super cool, Strak. I don't think I would've guessed you since I associated you as a code programming dude, so I am surprised with the professional(?) musician room setup. *O*
EDIT: Okay, finished submitting the four videos:
Ending 1/4 — Full Playthrough
Ending 2/4 — Full Playthrough
Ending 3/4 — Full Playthrough

@Frogge: I pretty much ruled out attempting to make a horror shitpost Christmas game right off the bat, so the next best thing would've been a shitpost Christmas game. The "shitpost game" is something I consider still very much outside my general gammak experience, but, I'm happy to see that you liked the product!
@OzzytheOne: You know, it's funny. One weapon system tutorial (or file) says to use the "A and Enter" buttons. This seems to suggest using the physical "A" button on the keyboard, and would technically be keyed to the virtual-controller X button. So, I would humbly suggest something more like, "Hold Shift to aim, and use Enter to fire" to be more correct to how the game actually functions. I was also a bit surprised to not see a bullet fire out, but, that might be a function of the Resident Evil system you've got in here.
*Edited the aside to the proper Okiku formatting.

![]() | That aside, the characterizations were very much on point, I loved them! |
![]() | Did you also draw the bonus portrait as well? |
![]() | The style kinda reminded me of WaKa's, and made me doubt a little about my guess... |
![]() | ...but they weren't a Santa this year, were they? |

My initial guess was wrong but my second guess about it being Marrend was right after all! Thank you so much Marrend, I loved the game. The credits especially were really funny.
And Delsin - I’m glad you liked the art! I’m not too used to working with an anime style but I tried my best to get it looking like an 80s anime poster for you ^^
:O Well no wonder I didn't quite recognize it, Frogge did something new! Thanks Frogge, it looks great! *Tells everyone to hire Frogge for their indie game title screen/poster art.*
Liberty would never guess it, but twas I! Well she handed them out and was who we handed them into. But still! Twas I! (The Liberty Christmas Game 2023 has like...12? endings or so, 2 branch from one choice, 1 from another, then 7 or so from the end choice. 3 branch from a single of those choices. Collect them all?! It was fun working on it, would have mak in MV but Node.js was being a complete pain and had to use VXA. It's simplified from the original so went gammak event mode and got it working. I'll make a gamepage for others to play after Libby beats it.
@Soulrain thank you very much for my gift Soul! I really liked it, you captured the essence of my character pretty well xD
For those wondering, this is the great gift I got from Soul :3
@Marrend I'm glad you liked the game! I tried very hard to keep the characters consisten with your own writing, and I'm glad I succeeded! The art was made by Amysaurus, which is why it's so cool.
@Kiyasu if Marrend gives me permission to do so, I'll share Okiku S.T.A.R.S. Apprentice here, it's a fun little game and I'm glad Marrend enjoyed it :3

author=Delsin7Delsin out here putting us all to shame with a 12 different ending game.

Submitting Okiku, Apprentice of S.T.A.R.S. would be pretty awesome, and I dunno if Frogge would want me to submit my little crappy game. However, an idea has popped into my head. What if we put together a gamepage of all the Secret Santa game-gifts? Both gifter and giftee would have to be cool with including the game(s), and I dunno who'd submit the gamepage to kick it off and add the other users to submit their games later, but, what do you all think of that? Yea? Nay?

Ok, will do that by the end of the week then!
I offer myself as gamepage submitter. Anyone than wants to add their game to it, let me know here or via DM and I’ll add you as developer to the gamepage.
author=MarrendI'm totally up for this Secret Santa game page featuring all consented gifts. :D Maybe

EDIT: Also would be interesting if Rpgmakeraddict or some other famous reviewer here ends up giving a review for each submitted Secret Santa game :'D
It would certainly be a multi-download gamepage! Media could absolutely be submitted on that gamepage as media objects! If media was submitted elsewhere on the site, such as kiaysu's media submissions for Strak's One Hour, I could see at least a reference link to those pages as an aside in the gamepage's description. Or, maybe there would be a catch-all media submission for the media that was handed out?
I dunno if there would be a proper "main" game, given the spirit of the concept of the gamepage. However, I would have to note, in my capacity as mod/staff, that a download has to be assigned in order for the "Review" button to be active, and thus allow somebody like TheRPGMakerAddict to review itand the listed devs would get EVEN MOR MAKERSORCE as an additional Christmas gift, if you want to think of it that way.
