Character designs are really neato.
Regardless, I might have to give it a try. As long as it's fun, I don't really care if I'm playing as an angsty tweenage fashion victim or not.

The characters are distinct and recognizable from a distance even as small sprites--that's good video game character design. Much better than certain other character designers like Amano who do beautiful pictures but whose characters have to be redesigned by other people before they could ever hope to be recognizable to players as sprites or models. I've got a bit of a pet peeve with how down on Nomura people tend to be despite the fact that he does exactly what a character designer for video games should do.

The character designs may be ridiculous a lot of the time, but that makes them recognizable and gives them, wait for it....character. Also, before anyone pulls out the "belts and zippers" meme, I ask that they remember that Shibuya is where Japanese people go when they want to dress like lunatics.

I bought Retro Game Challenge and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon at roughly the same time. I like Fire Emblem more than Retro Game Challenge, but both are great. RGC is probably a better game, but Fire Emblem gels well with my tastes.
I will probably buy Dragon Quest V very soon.

You mean Rule of Rose? Because that's probably my favorite horror game. I kind of hate the localization for toning down the more risque themes, though. (9 year-old lesbians.) Makes a lot of the story make even less sense.

Bought a 360 elite on thursday along with Gears of War and Ninja Gaiden II. Both games for $30. Still getting used to seeing such pretty graphics and taking advantage of being able to buy M games now that I'm 17. The only way I could play M games before was pirating, but now it's like a whole new world has just opened up for me!
Congratz on the 360. Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition on Friday. Last game for a while for me.. Although Dark Athena really looks good, plus it comes with a remake of Butcher Bay!

I'm playing through RE5 right now, actually. Just got it today. It's very entertaining, although kinda short. All RE games are kinda short though, so it's nothing new.

I just bought the new Suikoden and am looking at getting me some Dynasty Warriors. Not sure whether to get 2, 3 or 5 though. (Already played/finished 6)
