CloseSite is back up, and most things should be working OK.
To get the site back up and running we had to sacrifice some things.
Game Downloads that were hosted on RMN are not currently available. We are working to move them to a location that (hopefully) isn't going to cost us hundreds of dollars a month. For the foreseeable future, Game Downloads will need to be hosted offsite using third-party file hosting services like Dropbox, Google Drive, Mediafire, Mega, etc. I'd anticipate the Game Downloads being available by the end of the month.
Downloads from Events that used the 'event locker' feature are also not available. These files are not as large as the Game Downloads, so there is a chance we just move them to the server rather than waiting to find storage for them.
Please respond to this topic if you find things that don't work!

RMN is alive!! I'm so happy to see this place keep going! If it disappeared it would feel like losing my internet home
Great to hear and see! Something is not right though. At least for me, many requests seem to take 30-60 seconds, such as logging in or opening a post. That can't be normal...
Also I'd like to mention my own hosting service CherryShare, which has kept the RM community's games available for 15 years now, while many things hosted on Dropbox, Google Drive, Mega, RapidShare (back then) and so on are no longer around, and there is no tracking, premium service, ads or anything like that, so you're welcome to drop your stuff there too :) https://cherryshare.at

The long era of darkness comes to an end... Now is the era of slowness where we all bully the site with traffic for a while.
Sacrificing downloads hosted on the site itself was one of the many options people had been suggesting in the Discord so it doesn't surprise me that it had to be done. It seems like more of a relic now that hosting elsewhere is so easy anyways.

Really glad these are back, the downloads thing doesn't bother me much. The memes are going to always be what I remember this forum for.
That and the dramas over pretty much nothing, especially the ones that get isolated exclusively to the discord! Those are very funny!

Unsure if this is really an "issue" as such, but I have noticed that after having logged in on the re-upped site (with the www in front, which Liberty made a point of saying was now necessary on the Discord announcement), I can still access the site via the old url without the www, where I am not currently logged in.
Just thought I'd point it out, since I'm not entirely sure if its intentional or expected.

Ankylo is the hero we need but not the one we deserve. Thanks so much to everyone for working hard to get this site back up and running!
The whole ordeal really put things into context about just how much we stand to lose without RMN. There are so many games that are only hosted here that we might lose forever if RMN ever truly goes down for good. As much as people joke about the site, we hold a lot of history here.
