HOW ABOUT A CHAT

Please change your avatar. It's so fucking big.
Anyway, an actual forum chat would be a bad idea. More people would be posting there and not in the actual forum. Plus, we already have a sort of RMN chatroom, the IRC.

DD nailed it. If you want to chat, use the IRC channel.
I think a chat function would be nice. IRC is like 30 years old, man. Have you been to Facebook or used XBox Live lately :(
Yes and neither of them are as fast or reliable as IRC. What are you getting at?
EDIT: I should probably be a bit more down-to-earth and less argumentative.
A chat system would be fun stuff, HOWEVER it would take a lot of time and effort to make. There are a lot of issues that have already been solved with IRC that I would have to solve myself were I to make a chat system.

Didn't mysersguy (was it him?) that came up with a cool idea for a function to see if people are on IRC or not via the site itself?
It might have been me, but I don't remember.
If anything, I think we should just use Ajax chat. It's open source, and apparently coding functions is a breeze.

Wouldn't work with our site, myers.
Why not just have a link to a Java or Flash applet that links the user to the IRC channel? They've got something like that over at rpg2knet.com.
A chat site would be good but soon enough everyone will be chatting there and the forum will be left forgotten. I have seen this happen far too many times.

This applies to most browser-chats for me, they just lag so much. Well actually IRC-via-browser lags too but at least the IRC-application doesn't.

But on the other hand I use a discontinued client from 1997... Everything was faster in 1997.

It is quite active lately.
