FALLEN-GRIEVER'S REVIEW THREAD
Posts
I commented on this within my gamepage too, but: thanks for this, F-G. I'm really glad that you enjoyed it so much, and seeing other people liking the character development system...! Oh, and there is a huge difference between a Human and an Orc, but that's not really important. =D
Out of a developer's curiosity, what party did you create?

That is like the ultimate MURDERATION party, especially if the Kesu were of Falena and the tanks of Almenga/Trodain.

The above is for 1873.
A couple of things:
Other than that, very nice, and I definitely intend to work one that chipset issue.
Note: The tutorial appears when you start a new game, so I know you saw itand probably skipped it like everyone else :(.
author=Fallen-Griever link=topic=2819.msg69479#msg69479 date=1238931949They carry over. They're under the "Innate Skills" like the tutorial said.
Also, I still never get to use the "charge" skills since they don't seem to carry over multiple battles and it is rare you need to link 20 attacks together. Perhaps lowering the 20 attack limit to something like 3 or 5 would be more appropriate - with a lowering in their usefulness to match, maybe.
The fact that you can't access the menu outside of battleHit shift like the tutorial said.

I feel very stupid now; although I did skim through the tutorial I must have missed out on that. Do the Innate Skills get cancelled if you miss an attack? Because I really never got to use them.
How's about reviewing Legionwood and One Night if you's not already on it. My games are STARVING for attention here on RMN.

Nah, you don't get penalized for missing; even when the actual Innate misses, it still counts towards your next Innate.
I still think it would be better to lower the requirement for innate skills and balance the power of the skills accordingly. That way, they more dynamically effect the way you plan reloading etc. in each battle; especially since right now reloading isn't really strategic and just happens when it happens. Of course, you can just use Bleed over and over and never have to reload! Which is also a problem depending on how you look at it.
Bleed costs ammo. So you do have to reload. I don't know why you'd use a 7-9 damage skill over a 30~40 attack on anything other than DEF and HP class opponents anyway.
Reloading doesn't really come into play until your start getting skills like Scattershot and Ricochet. Skills that cost, say 50% or 100% of your ammo.
Also, if I went and made Innates easier to use I'd have to rebalance every encounter again. And then rebalance every "dungeon" again. And then rebalance the reward again, and the experience curve, and so on, delaying the project by - if last time was any indication - another month. Better to ramp up the difficulty as months progress in my opinion. :-\
if you review dungeon quest, I'd be grateful. It can be completed in less than 5 minutes so it shouldn't be a great chore

Sure, I can review them. I might not turnover a review as quick as usual since I am beta-testing Sore Losers as well right now, but I'll get on it.
Thank you good sir. I'll keep an eye out. Good luck with Sore Losers, I like it already and will certainly play it upon completion!
