WHAT CORPORATION ARE YOU A SLAVE TO?

Currently, I'm putting myself in college through telemarketing, and it pretty much sucks ass. A lot of ass. I'm currently looking for another job to pay my bills, but in the meantime this is the worst job I've ever had. I'm constantly calling (old) people asking them if they want credit cards during what is currently an economic recession. It's completely unintuitive and it's extremely repetitive, and I don't even get a solid 8 hours doing it, they're constantly sending us home for one reason or another. I'm looking for another job so maybe during this topic I'll find a better one?

What's your job? What (menial?) task do you repeat every day for eight odd hours to put food in your belly, pay your cell phone bill, or keep a car under your ass?
I work for these guys

So watch your ass.
Well i studied my ass off to get where i am today which is main manager of a restaurant. I usually work around 11+ hours every day 6 days a week so i don't get that much free time. I'm at usually at work when i come onto RMN.

Overall it can be a very hard job having to do the rosters, documents, more and more paperwork but it's what i've wanted to be since i was a child.
I am a US federal employee. I service electronics, prepare reports, and work on plans for the Narrowband Radio Initiative for the National Park Service.

One of the few financial conglomerates not folding like a 60 pound schoolgirl. We're actually in the process of buying up pieces of other guys, like Citigroup.

I "work" for Manchester University, being a postgraduate researcher and all. But a University clearly isn't a corporation, and I can't even complain about what I do anyway since, to be honest, I actually like it.

Sucks to be people doing menial jobs.
Hehe that's neat, my brother studies there. Not Chemistry though. :(

And it's also pretty cool that someone from Morgan Stanley of all places frequents an amateur game-making forum.

I don't do any "real" work but I go to a retirement home every week (or every other week, it depends) on behalf of my school's volunteer's scheme.

I've only been doing it for about a year. Been making games for much longer. I work whenever I want, so the game hobby doesn't suffer! :)

I do this as well, but I think i better stop, ima be 20 in less than a month ;)
Ah, age doesn't really matter! It really depends on what kind of support network you have around you and their feelings on what you do. I'm 23 and for concerns specific to my health I just can't stretch myself too thin trying to do too much such as school, work, etc. all at the same time. Age itself doesn't really matter unless the people surrounding you decide you ultimately have to do everything yourself at a given age. In the long run once you start accomplishing something it doesn't really matter how long it took you to get there or how old you are.

S'least what I tell myself!
I'm volunteering atm and at least trying to do that full-time after I get some lame meetings with my agency (that helps find work) out of the work. Coming out of uni with no work experience makes me think why I didn't get a PT job before. :|
I work for an education company (it's sad but I don't know the word/phrase in English so I used "education company", like a company that owns privates schools of different levels: high school, kindergarten, university, etc.).

I work at a high school 3 days, and kindergarten 2 days. I'm given lots of creative freedom, and it's a fulfilling job.
This post was going to say something scathing and objectionable, but I eventually decided against it. Have fun naming companies. :-X
