Simple question. What genre are your games you create?
For me it would be the fantasy type genre. Sending the hero's out on a quest to save a princess or defeating evil demon lords has always been a favourite of mine and is what i like to create.

traditional RPGs in the same vein as the Paper Mario and Mother series (as opposed to say Final Fantasy, and similar games)
So basically light hearted games that take place in fantasy worlds that still have a hint of realism. I also like to shift between seriousness and humor.
Having a few bosses that have wacky personalities and quirks is also a must for me

Okay, I will be one of the 99% who says they like to make some sort of RPG. Myself, I like to make traditional fantasy style RPGs with dragons, kings, knights, princesses and such, but with an often dark twist, such as a demonic cult which controls the governments in the background, numerous bloody, destructive battles, dark visuals, mythos heavilly involving Hell and of course main characters getting killed off in emotional cut scenes.
However, I also like to dabble in creating horror themed games too, generally either RPGs with a horror theme or else an action adventure game.

This can not be answered in a single category by myself personally. So here goes...
My most used genre is, yes, traditional RPG. There are also a couple of Action RPG's as well. I've completed, what I think I would call, a puzzle type game and I've planed on a sequel for that. I'm also about to delve into making a horror game; I'm still working on the background/story/plot for it at the moment.

Interactive storytelling is hard enough for the pros. I say keep it simple for us amateur 1-man-show types. It doesn't get more basic than this, and I like it just fine.
Epic space opera.
Or a piece of an epic space opera thereof. I'm in love with the genre.

I'm creating a traditional, linear, lengthy RPG in your standard fantasy setting. Not much else to really say. :)
I have to say I probably don't take inspiration from anything as I don't play many RPGs the only one I have played is Pokemon....yeah pokemon....anyways I really don't know what genre to classify it as except for the fact that it is a friggen RPG :o
Game? I have never made one!
...
(My project is a cinematic fantasy adventure with aesthetics and storytelling taking the precedent, as everyone surely knows! Hehe.)

Modern, adventure, horror. Somewhere around there, although I don't believe in a black & white idea of genres.
All kinds, arcade games, platformers, fantasy RPG, a half broken RTS that had Anglo-Saxons in it, and a sci-fi FPS. What can I say, we're varied.
