BARACK OBAMA DAY

Posts

Anyone sick of the media coverage of this. Barrak is the First black president and thats cool but you would think he cured cancer with the constant love fest going on.
Being the first black president is a little bigger than what some of you give credit for.

Yes. Everyone loves Obama because he's black. It's not like people listen to what he says or agree with his policies or anything, they just love him 'cause he's black.
You sure do know your shit.

Being the first black president is a little bigger than what some of you give credit for.

this is true, but white people born after the civil rights movement basically don't understand the significance and see him as just another president

I'm in that group, and I also can't understand why it is a big deal (to me he's just that guy I voted for) but I understand the reason why it is not a big deal to me and that to alot of people, it is a very big deal

personally I can;t think of anyone I'd rather have as opresident while we face these challenges, it'll be hard to fix the economy, especially if the southern republican senators keep blocking the auto bailout because they are more interested in the short sighted goal of destroying the worker's unions (the biggest and most organized block of democratic party supporters) then keeping the Michigan region from turning into an industrial ghost town, along with all our manufactoring, and with it the economy, not to mention the loss of millions of jobs

as well as spineless, lazy, democratic senators who run in fear of a filibuster threat

(lol I sure am sore ain't I?)

anyway, if Obama can't fix the economy, then no one can. That's just the feeling I have, of course, I am confident that with drastic economic policy changes, things will get fixed. The only question is can Obama get control over the democratic majority and if the republicans don't try to block everything out of spite

Don't let their conservative rhetoric fool you, most of the Southern Republicans represent districts that depend on auto manufacturing -- just not American manufacturers. Toyota, Honda, etc have opened several factories all across the South, where there is hardly any union presence and they know how to throw lobbying money around. The Senators block the auto bailout because they know their constituents back home are bought and sold by foreigners and any cash infusion from the auto bailout helps domestic manufacturing at the expense of the foreign competition.

There are numerous issues at play here.
I have decided to no longer make any statements about this election that causes a fight to break out. ::) So, here's to hoping it turns out well for America!

and here I thought they just did it because they were mad that they lost the election

No, F-G, I'm pretty sure it's because of Prince Harry's dick size. Sorry.
I meant politically, he has an unremarkable past politically.

Relative to...?

Say, John McCain or Hillary Clinton? Barrack has a long and distinguished political career of...running for president.

Even Obamaniacs have to admit he's a little green. Still, I hope he does well and I am excited for the US.
True, but I wanted to see his response, haha.

This entire thing was completely and offensively ridiculous, and I was(/am, remains to be seen really) totally pro-obama. Especially the absurd HBO-televised inaugural celebration/super-bowl half time show on saturday, where everyone from Denzel Washington to Steve Carell to Jack Black to Jaime Foxx to QUEEN LATIFAH came out to say something offensively trite and quasi-relevant, and then Martin Luther King III got less screen time than BRUCE FUCKING SPRINGTEEN. I lol'd through the whole fucking thing because it was just so absurd.

Since when does a presidential inauguration need a fucking PRE-GAME SHOW with JUMBO-TRONS littered across the mall at Washington DC?

How will this fix the economy?

Yes, I get it,the nations' first black president is important but you know what WE GET IT. Shut the fuck up and have some decorum.

Compared to that, the inaugural ceremony itself and the five inaugural balls seemed almost tasteful and restrained.

Seriously, two words come to mind here: "bread" and "circuses".
How will this fix the economy?

Read the article I posted and the other articles that article links to. And it helped because it provides work, jobs, and monetary flow to everyone involved. I've already read a few articles about how the huge ceremony was an economic pump to the surrounding area and the people involved.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul does not stimulate the economy. We do not need DNC-funded parties to get people part-time jobs as part of some "New New Deal."
