Max: The game has four sentient monsters as harder-than-most-to-get PCs; a minotaur, a skeleton, a devil and a fireball. Quincy would be the fireball. In the Relationship Room (your means of interacting with the larger-than-Demon Tower-cast), Quincy talks to the protagonist about how he discovered as a young spark that he was attracted to other sparks instead of dryads; he also explains that forest fires occur when a dryad and a fireball divorce.

Either way, just let me note that Padraic =/= Patrick for anyone who is wondering. I mean, I guess they are the same in the vague way that Jeffrey = Geoffrey or Seamus = Shamus.

but yeah Padraic is essentially Patrick, they share from the same origin (Patricius, as in the saint). more in the way that Séamus = James and Séathrún = Jeffrey / Geoffrey.
I personally would've chosen the Pádraig spelling because I think it better represents the pronounciation and I like the configuration of accent but thumbs up for stepping up a little

Though, one thing that did bug me a little was that there was a lot of text (it's probably just me!). Though, it did have a nice text speed so it is bearable (again, it's probably just me and hating excessive amounts of text in games).
One of the lines of text didn't make sense: "Elated at the news that took almost fifty years to arrive, everyone was elated" ???.
I do like the nice effects you have on that world map of yours! It's really nice ;).
Also, is that song from Vagrant Story :)?
The game begins here... I suck at mapping, but, basically, this is an underwater cave.

About the intro itself..? Lovely, but i think you could alter the intro windowskin and remove that annoying arrow that appears when you have text, besides this, great^^
Also... Skip intro, anyone? You should add this option, because, after a Game Over right at the beginning(happened to me 3 times in Hero´s Realm, until i found the guild -,-'), the intro becomes irritant ^^ REALLY irritant. It´s just plain silly, and i´d better give up, or remove the intro in the editor, rather rhan watching it ten times.

Though, I don't know if straight after this introduction of yours that you gain control of the character or not. Though, I suppose I've seen longer introductions... Anyways, it's probably just me :P.

This is a mock-up; more of a test of the style rather than anything else (the colour purposefully lacks depth, shading etc. and I don't have a clue if anything would fit properly with the RM2K3 templates).
Unless, that is what you're going for?

Early stages anyway; don't even have the gameplay fully worked out yet. Thinking of a cross between Streets of Rage, Riviera: The Promised Land, and Chrono Trigger (but RM2K3 might make some of my ideas problematic).
I actually wouldn't mind something with that style, though the bottom part of the screen bothers me for some reason... The perspective, maybe? I'm not entirely sure what those are, roofs?
