BEST AND WORST ZELDA GAME
Posts
I think the best zelda game is Zelda 2 Links adventure, because of the rpg elements and because it is much harder that all the others. I think the worst is Twight Light Princess the game is boring and the story is so lame not to mention the world was to dark and lame. What does everyone else think.
I think finding the worst Zelda game (not counting the CD-i games) is like trying to find the best cancer.
That said, I'd say the best was either Majora's Mask, Link to the Past, or Minnish Cap.
Honorable mention for Okami: the best Zelda game that isn't a Zelda game.

Best Zelda Game:
I really loved Majora's Mask and think it was underrated
Wosrt Zelda game? ... No idea ???

Best Zelda Game: Majora's Mask or Ocarina of Time.
Worst Zelda Game: The Adventure of Link (terrible, terrible game!)

Best: Majora's Mask and Adventure of Link
Worst: The original or the BS port since if you miss a small timeframe you can't beat the game (or spend a few hours waiting for it to open again)
Wait, no, The Ancient Tablets or whatever it was is the worst. Its just... so damn boring and there's an arbitrary time limit that you can't see (it is a hardware limitation though)

Seems like I completely disagree with all of you.
Worst: Majora's Mask, by far
Best: Both Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess
I played Majora's Mask for like 10 minutes and never played it again.
Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess have the best stories of them all, and I liked TP's story and plot more.

Well, I'm sure alot of you are going to criticize me because of the fact that I've only played it for like 10 minutes, but...
The first straw was Clock Town (the first town, if that was its name), I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO FUCKING DO! I do believe I found out, but I couldn't get into a certain building I had to go to, I'm not sure, but it pissed me off.
Second, and aspects such as this just really turn me away from certain games, was the fact that you were timed. Yes, I know that when the time ran out and the moon crashed you started back from your last save point, but with all of your collectible items were gone, but, come on, unless I'm playing a horror game, I don't want to have this sense of urgency because I'm racing against the clock.
And, UNLESS it's a horror game, I not having fun if I'm tense trying to get as much things done before the time expires. That's how I see it.
author=Mitsuhide_The_Vagrant link=topic=3028.msg59066#msg59066 date=1233209259But you WERE playing a horror game. Well....a suspense game, anyway. The sense of urgency and the Groundhog Day plot were sort of the whole point of the game.

Ya M Mask is for the most part really bad. For the most part the begining is way to long and slow. However all lot of the masks were really cool. I liked the game but because of the time issue it is not really a game you can vege out to and thats why it is one of the worst.

Okay, saying Zelda is a horror game is stupid. It's not; it's an adventure game. I commend Nintendo for trying something different, but the time thing in Majora's Mask was one attempt at making a good Zelda game they failed. They should just stick to what they've been doing.
author=Mitsuhide_The_Vagrant link=topic=3028.msg59073#msg59073 date=1233209662"Sticking to what they've been doing" is not something Nintendo has ever really done much of. They're the Madonna of game companies.

And I said Majora's Mask was a suspense/adventure game, not that Zelda IN GENERAL was. Different entries in a series can be different things.

I just meant the Zelda franchise.

You're right, they can. And, like I said, their attempt at doing this in Majora's Mask was a failure.
Hmmm.. I haven't played any recent handheld Zelda games so I can omit those (Phantom Hourglass, minish cap) but anyways:
Best: Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, which I've beaten both for the gamecube. Never thought that Twilight Princess would be good for the wii. Especially since everything is mirrored which makes Link right handed and that just isn't right...no pun intended.
Worst: Probably Windwaker. I didn't really like Majora's Mask for the whole "The moon is ALWAYS FALLING TO KILL YOU ALL" and I hate having time limits on entire games, but it was still not too bad of a game. Windwaker was really not so bad either considering it had a very solid battle system but I didn't enjoy the insanely long time it takes to go find the pieces to the triforce. The boat aspect just was really tedious.. Step 1) Get in the boat Step 2) Turn the boat in the direction you want to go Step 3) If the wind isn't doing what you want, change it Step 4) Sail for about 15 minutes and not do much else. Even then so, I still liked both of them, and they were trying to find something new to try but that was a big jump in the wrong direction.
Twilight Princess definitely impressed me in all the right ways. I absolutely loved the sound and feel of when you slashed because it felt solid everytime you fought. The graphics also blew me away which isn't easy to do for a gamecube game. Very lengthy and plenty of things to collect. The game becomes a lot more fun whenever you collect more sword techniques. Your horse is a freaking monster in size. It was a little slow to get going, but once it did I didn't ever want to stop. Literally all I did that week was Go to school 8 hours, play twilight princess 8 hours, sleep 8 hours, up until I beat it. In fact, I think I'll start playing it again tomorrow, becuase I haven't played through it in awhile. I also beat Ocarina of Time with every item in 2 days, right before I bought Twilight Princess. Probably the 7th time I've done that. Twilight Princess even had an awesome story. There's really close to NOTHING wrong with that game! Being a wolf was cool, but I didn't like being forced to be one for long periods of time. That's my only complaint. Seriously, combing weapons like bombs and arrows? Why didn't they think of all this before?

Even though the final sword fight with Ganon was easy, it was pretty cool

Amen, Natook. It is apparent that Twilight Princess is probably the best in our opinions. I agree everything you said about it. No, seriously, I did.
Best one was Ocarina of Time. I might say Majora's Mask if I played more than the first dungeon; my game froze as I was about to play the Song of Time, and I had to either RESTART THE WHOLE FUCKING DUNGEON... or return it to the friend I borrowed it from. Guess which one I chose. Ocarina of Time, however, was pretty cash. I still have the occasional nightmare about the bottom of the well.
Worst was Zelda 2. It was fun for a while, but maybe it was just too hard for me. I couldn't get past the first dungeon. I almost said Twilight Princess because of the tedious bug-hunting and rather slow pace, but it was still a great game.

Worst-Actually I thought zelda 1 sucked. When I started,I had no idea what to do.I was just put in the middle of a room with a random door.
Best-...Geez Louis.I liked nearly all of them except zelda 1.Though my personal favorite was always Majora's mask. The temples were much more challenging, plus you could turn into different creatures.

Best Zelda game was Wind Waker. Had awesome music and the game addicted me so much.
The worst Zelda game is the first. After playing that i thought i wasn't going to play any other from the series.
