If it was decriminalised then you wouldn't get a ticket of any value for having it...
The word means "to eliminate OR REDUCE criminal penalties".
author=Fallen-Griever link=topic=3121.msg61696#msg61696 date=1234564002Right on, brother. Weed is decriminalized here, so the worst case scenario is a $25 ticket if you get caught with it

Hey nice try, look up the laws next time before trying to call me out.

Do you live in Oregan or something?
Yeah I wish it was that easy here. You know, for being a "liberal state" we sure do have a lot of conservative influence in our state affairs...meh I blame Bill O'Reilly and his coalition of moronic opressive jackasses.
Seriously public smoking might just get banned.
Also on drugs. A lawyer has made a state law stating that second hand smoke is considered a weapon and therefore you can now sue someone for assault if they smoke around you and you inhale some smoke.
Like I said. I wish Oregon were that easy.

Has anyone heard about the evils of third hand smoke yet?
Sounds kinky.

Yes.

At first I thought it was something else for people to bitch about, but given the pervasiveness and longevity of how unhealthy cigarette smoke is, maybe this is something to give serious consideration!
I've seen second hand smoke before, but third hand? My poor lungs.
I want the legality of cigarettes switched with marijuana.

Marijuana smoke is just as bad or worse than cigarette smoke, really. It's just users of marijuana tend to use it in more reasonable portions.
Hell, smoke from INCENSE can cause problems(as a recent study has shown). Generally speaking, inhalation of smoke of any kind is not good for us humans. Our bodies just don't seem to like it.
Also, FG, to clarify for you: a $25 ticket is a fine, not a criminal offense. Tickets are generally considered violations - like parking tickets, or speeding tickets. It's not even a misdemeanor(though I do believe it is a misdemeanor to rack up tickets and not pay).
There is an important difference.
Criminal offenses require you to, you know, stand trial, jury and all?

This is arguable, because last night I boxed my car out and I couldn't see my friends in the backseat because it was too smokey. ;D

But as I recall, when I lived there, Meth was about as common as rainfall.
At least in Forest Grove/Hillsboro area. Maybe it's different where you're at.
Anyway, if you really need some reefer, you can just hit up Eugene, am I right?

yes this is in clothes and curtains and such.
i'm very concerned about 4th hand smoke. this is when your grandma used to smoke and it got into the fur of her dog, then her dog licked the sewing machine, the she made you a sweater, now that sweater is in your closet and all your clothes have it and then you DIE.
Since the other topic was locked, I realized that we already have a drug/alcohol discussion right here, and it's not even too old. So in an attempt to revitalize discussion, I'm going to pose this question;
Do you think that any drugs should be legalized or decriminalized in America?
My answer; I think that marijuana at least could be regulated and controlled, if say it was only able to be used in a home or special bars. Regulating it could be a real boost to the economy.

Come on Mog... There is really no point in creating this kind of a debacle
yes
you're just opening a big old can of worms. in the end, the issue isn't about the drugs themselves, but about the sort of things messing with their legal status will trigger.
as for the op which i didn't read but will assume is asking if i smoke durgs and drink, i do and have. weed on occasion, i've tried shrooms and x, and i drink like a fish (well not really). i would have a massive ritalin/speed/whatever habit if i could.
My feelings are mixed on legalizing 'hard drugs,' but marijuana ought to just be a no-brainer. I don't smoke it myself, not for really any reason except I just never decided to, but I feel like it's not that big of a deal. Maybe with the economic recession, other states in the U.S. will move in the direction California has headed and legalize/tax-the-hell-out-of-it.
As for other drugs, while I understand that the War on Drugs (big proper noun) hasn't effectively ended them and never will, I think it does have a positive impact (I need to learn more to back this up or reveal it as false though). When I think about the effects of some drugs like meth, especially the effects on others who don't make the choice to use the drugs, I feel like some prevention is good. Again, though, raises problems with what government Ought to do versus what government Can do.
As for me, never done anything except alcohol. Nowadays my stomach is so weak I generally don't do much except sip beers, because I'm so awesome like that 8).
