The Games page is in need of some refactoring, and we wish to poll the members for their input, opinions, ideas and feedback.
Please use this thread to discuss features and/or changes you'd like to see in the Games section.

NOTE: Asking for a feature here does not imply that that feature will get implemented. This thread is for discussion of features you'd like to see. Some ideas already listed might not even be feasible (WIP is the guy to ask about that kind of stuff here).

I know this is early beginnings but, I think you guys should add a Top Games page or some kinda of sorting arrangement, because it's pretty cluttered in the games section right now. Maybe have a Demos, Games, Projects all separated for easier finding or something
GAMES PAGE
- Filter/Sort by Maker, creator, status in addition to Name and Rating
- Ability to sort game list by Most Recently Updated.
- Ability to filter by first letter of name (0..9 A B C D ... X Y Z)
- Put Pages: 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 at Top and Bottom of the page.
- Perhaps keep Random Game and Random Screenshot
- Perhaps add a Featured Game section at the top
- Little icons beside each game showing how many Misaos it's won
FAIF:
*Games should have an additional Help Section
Think of this as a mini-forum for the game itself. If you have a gameplay question, or you're stuck someplace, this section will be where you can post a question. (**the obvious question is: why have this when we have the forums? I think it tidies everything by keeping it in the game page itself. The issue of more than just the author being notified about any posts here comes next:)
*A user should be able to subscribe to different games.
By subscribing, I basically mean adding it as a favorite. Along with the "Latest Submissions" portion of the front page, we should have a section about all the updates that are going on with our subscribed games. If I subscribe to say, The Frozen World or Ara Fell, and someone posts a help question, I should also be notified. Or, if there's a new download or a new screenshot, the system should also tell me.
Add Random Game and Random Screenshot sections front and center, directly above Latest News. Each section would just randomly select a submitted game or submitted screenshot from our pool of games, every time the page loads. Maybe include a button that refreshes the section.

Well, this site definitely needs a search engine, or some way of organizing everything submitted. A subscription feature would be pretty crazy as well, if possible.
Possibly a links section for other sites that host and review RPG Maker games? Nothing massive or mad, but maybe a small list of other high-quality sites like this, maybe affiliates? Actually I still uphold that this is the MOST professional looking and well run Maker site out there.

For the record, you can actually view the games sorted by their last update. Unfortunately, there is only a link on the frontpage for it.
I read the whole search engine thing, and I love the idea. Make it so when people submit their games, they are asked to define it, and put in keywords for the game, then, people search, and poof, the games come up.
I also think a filter system would be cool, make it by downloads, rating, etc.
I also think that there needs to be one more game status option, which is DEMO, so that you can sort through games by demos, and give people feedback on their games that way.
That's about what I've got for now.

I think that it should have a resources page where everyone can upload there own graphics and share them with the rest.
...the games page should have resources on it? :/

lol, clearly he didn't read the title.
You know, I might be lazy, but being able to sort by whether it has a review or not might be a nice addition.
And this is kind of a no-brainer, but maybe being able to sort by multiple queries? Like all completed Game Maker platformers without a review. It could be pretty difficult (ha, I'm talking about difficult to WIP XD), but I think it'd be a good way to get people to actually review things, since they'd be able to easily find things that they'd want to play.

What she said sounds good. As long as there ends up being a better way of making your way around the games page, and being able to find what you want, it will all be good.
