DOES ANYONE NOT FINISH GAMES THEY PURCHASE?

There are a few RPG's that I actually really liked that I quit playing because I needed to power level. I kept thinking, "Oh yeah, I'll get back to it sometime," but I never did. Valkyrie Profile 2 was one of those games. Absolutely beautiful, I loved just about everything in that game, but once I had to grind a few levels I just lost interest.
I have a problem of quitting RPGs at the very end because I feel the compulsion to do all of the sidequests/optional bosses, but it's too difficult/boring to do so. So, I let the game sit in my 'still going to play this' pile for months until I acknowledge the truth and put the game away.

I got to the Northern Crater in FF7 but quit because I didn't feel like doing the work to get a Gold Chocobo, get KotR, kill the optional Weapons, etc. Similarly, I killed the second-to-last boss in Kingdom Hearts but quit because I wasn't very successful in grinding for the parts for the Ultima Weapon key, and I hadn't fought Sephiroth yet... Most recently, I beat Dragon Quest IV for the DS, but didn't play the new dungeon or fight the new end-boss because I was really tired with the game already.
holy shit Mr.Y is alive.

On topic: I got to the place in FF7 where you get that chick with the ridiculously short shorts and giant sharpened tire wrench. Quit after that.

Pretty much the exact same thing here, but with a bit of 'don't feel high enough level to do the last dungeon yet' thrown in, as well...

Also it's not even funny how many of my games are unfinished, definitely the majority of my collection. I'd suggest that it was because most of my games are RPGs with pretty long playtimes, if it wasn't for the fact that, like other posters, I have quite a few games that I haven't even played, as well. :'( From where I'm sitting right now I can see about 10 games that I've never even put in the console (one of them is shrink-wrapped). Countless more that have been played for less than 3 hours... I pretty much only ever buy games because I see them cheap, though, so I guess it's not as bad as it could be.

It's RPG Maker's fault. I seriously didn't play like ~ anything ~ from September 2007 to September 2008, was just RM2K3ing it up in most of my free time. And that's pretty much just started up again now. Does anyone else get this? Just... "man, fuck this game IM MEANT TO BE WORKIN ON MY GAME"
I finish all my games story wise and most side quests.
But on the 360 I have a problem with not collecting all
of the achievements for my games. :P

Achievements are for extreme gamers... like myself.

This is true. I consider myself a hardcore gamer, yet not in the Xbox sense (partially because I've recently only started playing games on it). As with where I stand right now, I don't give a crap about getting the achievements on Xbox games.

I have a massive MASSIVE collection of games i have yet to even get near completion. I wish i had MS Access here so i could pop open my database, but the PS1 and PS2 games alone number in the dozens, not to count all the NES games, SNES, GBA, GCN, DS, N64, PC, PS3, and Wii Games...

some days... It is a heavy weight. I justify this to myself saying - when I'm retired, I'll have enough time to plow through them all... or maybe my kids will appreciate it...
