NEW FILE UPLOADING SITE

A buddy of mine just got a file hosting site started up, so I thought it worthy to be shared. Although I know we aren't supposed to advertise on the site, I feel this is something at least slightly useful for some members. The upload speed is pretty good, and the downloads are immediate (so stop using rapidshare and making people wait 60 seconds before they can download!)
The site is called File Facility, and it can be found here
I find it's a nice alternative to the larger file sharing sites, no waiting, decent speeds, an easy to use layout. It's pretty good in my opinion.
Anyways, I thought it a worthy site to link to.

I question why it would be useful to some members when this site already offers completely free game hosting integrated with your game.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.
For anything else requiring uploading. For instance, Release Something Day VI is coming up, and people may be releasing something that does not yet have a game page

People upload other things besides games you know. I mean I know what you're trying to say, but I figure myersguy just wanted to share the wealth on a free, easy to use site for that purpose, especially since a friend of his made it.

Yes, but what about people who are just making fun, random projects for it? Or even people who are releasing a small demo or teaser of their game. They might not be even close to finished their game, and thus may not want to make a games page immediately.
Feld was also right. I wasn't simply posting this for game hosting, but rather just so everyone knew of a good, free host, whatever it may be that you want hosted.
Hosting monopoly!
Also, IIRC, one of the rules of game hosting was that it could be no larger than 40 MB... for me at least, it made me use an alternate host.
Anyway, I wish your friend luck with File Facility, but I've already got an useful and quick file hosting service. :)

author=Hesufo link=topic=3284.msg65259#msg65259 date=1236343246This is inaccurate. If it is 40MB or greater, we would just think about it more before its approved.

Max's beta-test for EtG would be a good example of something that won't be uploaded for general download on RMN, hence a file-hosting site would be required. There are tonnes of reasons not to use the free hosting here...

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that detail. Sorry.
Even though the possibility exists, I still feel kinda unsure as I already have a hosted version anyway... But there may be other reasons not to use RMN for hosting, such as some of those mentioned before.
I'm not discrediting RMN in any way as I think it's a great and distinguishable feature, to be able to fully host your game, blog, screenies, etc. with it. :)
EDIT: Btw, it was 20 MB, not 40. :-X
Right. That's why I am going to make it better in the future. =)
Username requires at least 5 characters!? :(
EDIT: It's taking me 10 minutes to upload a 12 MB file (AGM english patch). How does this compare to the likes of Megaupload and others?

What are other times you are getting on those sites? It will be pretty different depending on your own system.
