FORGOTTEN MAJESTY...STARTING OVER.

Hey, everyone.
Years and years ago, I was known in the rpgmaking world as Kindredz(aka premed student/stripper)...a guy who shamelessly lacked artistic skills but still managed to make a somewhat playable demo, Forgotten Majesty. I had every intention of eventually releasing the full game that I had been working on...with new graphics, expanded stories, custom animations, summons, the whole 9...
...but then my hard drive died and I lost *everything* and didn't have the heart to start over. So I quit and forgot all about Forgotten Majesty. I found out recently that after all of these years, there are people that *still* remember my game and I feel not only refreshed but somehow obligated to finish what I started all of those years ago.
Basically...I'm back at square one. What's the new rpgmaker out there that people use these days? Any oldbies around that remember me? What's new in the rpg world and where do I start?

I think so. Was FM the game with the siblings, boy and girl, and one of the parents was somebody really important (I think the Mother and she was an oracle or something). Battle theme was the Tales of Destiny battle theme.
Anyways, as for current makers give RPG Maker VX or XP a spin. There's 30 day trials at Download.com (or google it) to see what they can do. They're the "next gen" RPG Maker with a higher native resolution, improved power, and most notably scripting so you can change the fundamental systems in a game. It does need more processing power so if you've got an old computer then it might not run up to speed.
If you don't like either there's still RPG Maker 2000 and 2003. 2003 is pretty much 2000 with an overhauled battle system so its active time like the SNES/PS1 Final Fantasy's and support for character classes.
Also the Squaresoft Sin is pretty much dead

Yep, that's the game. I tried to play the game a few days ago and couldn't even take 10 seconds. It is not 2002, anymore.
I remember that game. I really liked it at the time. Ah, memories. ^.^
Good to see you back.
As for new RMs, well, there's XP and VX. Both have their good and bad points. I use neither so you may want someone who actually uses the programs to expand a bit on them.

I wanted to steal your games name at one point, I used to think it was so cool haha. I remember it though, had that title screen with the anime chick on it right?

Good to see you back, Kindredz! RmVX is the way to go ...
I figured if there was *one* person that would still be around, it'd be Iish, lol...
Great to see you again...
