NOT SURE ABOUT MY GAME

I must say in advanced im sorry if this is in the wrong topic, for my question i thought was fairly abstract and couldn't find a topic exactly suitable for it
anyways:

Iv'e been working on a game for a bit now, and you know of course i think its awesome because it's my game

but some thing iv'e been paranoid on is that i'm afraid i'll finish my game put it up and it's the worst shit compared to all the games out there

For
1.i barely have any custom model files for i've had a bunch of trouble either finding the right ones or it not working
2.some times i feel like my game drags on and other times feels like it zips by too quickly and i don't know if most games are like that
and other small things that im not sure if it makes or breaks a game

so if some one could please either show me a average/moderate game or inform me that not having custom model files are okay

thank you

Remember, 90% of everything is crap anyways.
thats good i guess but more what gets me is that will me not being able to get custom model files place it closer to that 90% or will it not affect where the it stands
I'm not sure if this topic should go here either... Maybe 'Game Design and Theory'? I'm not sure...
By custom model files do you mean custom graphics?
Also, is this one of the first games you've made? If it is, consider that we all need practice in order to move on to greater things.
Don't worry if your first game isn't marvelous or spectacular, or doesn't have original graphics and design. As long as you actually enjoyed making it, and obtain some knowledge on how to make games, or even with the system/engine you're using, so that you can make your next game as good as your previous one. Or even consider your previous one as practice.
Great things come with time and practice.
Hopefully that helps?

alright thanks =D
that actually helped alot

You're welcome :), and good luck in your future endeavours!

Don't worry, man...people still loved my game even though it had absolutely *HORRID* town/dungeon designs. I mean, the city was just a big square, lol...and the damn forest? OMG...I played my game last night and wanted to kill myself for designing that forest...and the music that I chose made it worse...an unfathomable abomination...

Unfortunately...I can't bring myself to go through the hassle of re-designing it for the upcoming Forgotten Majesty re-release, lol...

This is where feedback and criticism come into play. It's important to realize that no matter how good you make your game, there's always somebody who's not going to like it. And if it's the first game you've ever made, chances are it's going to need help in a few areas. But, this shouldn't stop you from posting it! Hearing from others how you might improve will not only help you fix up the game, but help you in future game developments as well. Also, don't be afraid to go back and edit something in a finished game. I can't tell you how many times I revised my first game (and it's still not all that great).

As long as you're prepared to take criticism and improve, you need not worry about being crappier than everything else.
You shouldn't be afraid of posting your game for any factor at all. One thing I've learned is that if you think you are bad at game making, the only way to improve is to learn what you need to do better.

The best way to do that is to let others play your game. You may feel bad that they don't like it (they may even like it anyway) but when it comes down to it, they are not going to flame you and laugh at you, they want to see you make a better game so they will tell you what needs to be done.

It takes practise to make good games, just like anything, and how will you learn to improve without first seeing what people think you need to improve on?
