MOST RECOMMENDED WII VC DOWNLOADS

Hey, so I splurged and bought my empty-wallet self a $250 Nintendo Wii, along with a Classic Controller and some old Virtual Console games. There looks to be a lot of good ones... and yet a lot bad ones... and I was wondering what folks most recommend for downloading. I especially like action games and platformers.

But what games do other Wii owners recommend?

Also, does anybody know if the Breath of Fire 2 available for download is the old SNES version, or the new translation with faster pacing made for the GBA? I played the GBA version for a bit and it was so much better than the original :P.
I don't have a Wii, but Super Metroid is a great game AND it's available for Virtual Console. That's one I'd recommend, at any rate. Then there's Gunstar Heroes, Sin and Punishment, any of the Legend of Zelda games...

Don't know about Breath of Fire 2, but I'd guess the unaltered game is up on VC, not the GBA version.
What's out on the VC? Any games like EVO or Chrono Trigger?? I'd buy those in a heartbeat, then buy them again so that Squenix knows theres a demand.

But, for the meantime, check out the Top Ten Topics for SNES and N64. That'd be a good place to start. I'll make an NES topic sometime soon.

BoF2 on VC is the old SNES version.

I'd recommend Donkey Kong Country 2, Starfox 64, and Super Metroid.
Freaking Sin and Punishment is awesome run and gun fun. It's also never been available stateside before the Virtual Console.

Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Heady, Shinobi III, Starfox 64 and Super Metroid also get my whole hearted endorsement.

If you think Chrono trigger is coming any time soon, don't hold your breath - you can still buy it in stores packaged with FF IV, so i doubt they'd put it on the VC. Geeze, a ps1 is like 50 bucks...

I, however, would kill Hellsing's Alucard to get some E.V.O. action up in my Wii. what have I downloaded? (it's hard, since i already have most of the good games collected for all my other systems) so i downloaded kid icarus (hard but fun), Kirby's Adventure, some game I'd never heard of called Dragon's curse, and Shining Force.
Kid Icarus was one of the first 4 games that I owned (the others being SMB, Dragon Warrior and Karnov)
I love Shining Force. It's such a primitive Tactical RPG, but it's so GOOFY.

Also, centaurs are almost never used in games ever.

Nobody should ever play Chrono Trigger for PSX. What a shoddy port.
Super Metroid and Starfox 64. I recommend these.
I bought Kid Icarus and the original Metroid. I plan to get Super Metroid and Gunstar Heroes because everyone says they're so amazing.
Alien Soldier got released this week. GREASY SWEET.

It's fantastic if you enjoy absurd hardcore platformers. I fought a giant crab in an airport terminal and the blue teddy bear I saved at the research lab let me ride on his speed boat.

Giant Enemy Crab!
Apparently Pokemon Snap hits the VC next week.

And I realize that's not everyone's cup of tea....but screw you. Pokemon Snap was awesome.

Yeah, it sure was awesome when I was 12 and bought it because I loved Red, then was horrified as I discovered out my 60+ dollar purchase was a 3 hour game.

If your only interest is in clearing all the levels, and not in getting the best pictures and scores possible, then you're right. Maybe if Snap does well on VC, they'll make a sequel for Wii or DS. That would be awesome.
I dunno, I was bummed out too with Snap. Pokemon in 3D, for my birthday, cooool... but it just felt way too short. I remember it being so short that Nintendo Power dedicated several pages to high scores and funny photos to extend its lifetime :P (the blurb in the magazine said that folks were complaining about the game's brevity...)
It was great for a weekend rental. I'm glad I didn't buy it though.

But then again, $10-$12 dollars for it on VC is a reasonable price.

They need to release Earthbound.
